Where would you rank Oasis?

In the UK they are just behind the Beatles and the Rolling Stones in the all time list. But in the USA they are more in the mid tier alongside bands like Greenday, Smashing Punmpkins and Pearl Jam.

America has it right. Good not great. I would put them above Green Day and below Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam.

They're waaaaaaaay back / behind the Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Who, Floyd, Zeppelin...

They were big in Britain because there had not really been a big rock band in Britain for almost 15 years when they broke out. U2 was Irish, and if you want to be honest, more American than anything else. They were one of the few rick bands even in England and Europe who could consistently top the charts in an era where rock really was not a chart topping thing.
Only 7 albums and 2 EPs .......ever, but they have gotten most of their mileage from What's The Story Morning Glory which sold something like 22 million world wide and spawned 4 big hits.
Good band, could have moved more towards the Great level, but the brothers were more about beating the shite out of each other than anything else

Never heard of 'em either.

Higher than most Americans. They probably are more suited to Americans who favor alt/indie than the classic rock types.

I really like Oasis but their lyrics, generally, were straight trash.

Never liked’em. Their vocals seem whiney. So any ranking I assign would be negatively biased.

Despite his having a long formal relationship with Epi and Gibson (including several sig models), NG recently took delivery of his first set of Carondelet Pickups, via a custom commission with a different Nashville-based guitar company with whom I work.
I say "first set" because my source tells me NG was impressed enough with the builder and his team, their guitars and the pickups, that he ordered another axe with identical specs. All while the rumor mill is murmuring about an Oasis USA stadium tour in 2027.
So no matter where you rank the band in the big picture, at least give NG a few brownie points for supporting your pal on TD :)

Winey posers who think they are better than the Beatles/Stones. Not a fan.

That's actually a cool story bro.

I’ve always heard Queen was just behind the Beatles and Stones as UK favorites. They were massive over there.
But you also have Zeppelin, Sabbath/Ozzy and a host of others. I can’t see how some of these would be behind Oasis other than recency bias.
The UK has definitely outdone itself in classic rock bands.

Behind Ride, Blur, and Stone Roses. But better than the Verve, Supergrass, Spiritualized, and Charlatans.
