I never understood the appeal of this band and had an early irrational hate for them (90s). These days there is no hate, but I still dont like them and will change any station the moment I detect the first note of one of their songs...

Scott Weiland is easily a Top 10 rock star of all time.
Who of the following are you throwing out to make room for him?
Keith Richards
Jim Morrison
Robert Plant
Freddie Mercury
David Bowie
Mick Jagger
David Lee Roth
Eddie Van Halen
Steven Tyler
Elvis Presley
And even if you throw one of those out he is still standing in line behind Jimi Hendrix, Keith Moon, Rod Stewart, Jimmy Page, and Elton John.

So thankful to have seen them one Scott was [ON] in BR in 2010. Great show, came out rippin with Crackerman, as they often did, and off we went.

The acoustic version is awesome as well.
That's a sure sign of a great song...

I was a 90's teen and was all into grunge/alternative as were my friends.
Crackerman and Sex Type Thing were my favorites from Core. Interstate was good as well (different album).
Never cared for Plush that much, nor did I like Wicked Garden. When I say "didn't like" I mean relative to music at the time. Both songs are infinitely better than any mainstream stuff today.
I got to see Weyland when he was with Slash and Velvet Revolver back in the 00's. Excellent show, though I didn't have great seats. (I can't remember if it was Nashville or B-ham as I went to a ton of concerts at both venues). They opened with "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" by Pink Floyd which was cool.
Some baws behind me kept yelling for Wicked Garden as the encore. My buddy and I got a kick out of that. WG is not much of an encore song.

Says more about you than STP.

Yeah... from day one, never liked them and thought the singer was a bit of a muppet... I will take back the "never understood the appeal" comment, because I certainly do understand and get why they were popular... They just never appealed to me, I should have said... but also no one I knew who was really into the same music (college/alt/indie/punk/post-punk) either...

Hall of Famer for sure, but top 10? Not even close.
Hell, he may not even be top 5 in the 80s/90s timeframe with like of Axl, Hetfield, Cobaine, Cornell, Keidas, Staley, etc...

Lady Picture Song is my favorite STP song.

Plush is arguably not even good.
Interstate Love Song, OTOH, is not only their best song (by a lot) but conceivably a Top 10 of all time.
I feel the exact opposite. Never cared for Interstate Love Song. I thought it was the most cookie cutter thing they ever did.
