If they continue, they should get away from the "big bad" event

The show does real medical drama so well, it doesn't need a big distracting factor to reduce to Gray's Anatomy level. I hated the mass casualty event last season it suspended disbelief. There's enough interesting shite to go wrong without a cyber terror attack.

Season 3 set at Halloween

Robby coming back from his sabbatical

Patients dressed up as zombies or slutty nurses or whatever .. a sick kid dressed as Elsa for emotional damage

It’s right there

That made for some shark jumping moments on the show ER. As great and "real" as ER was, they would have those episodes with people getting treated while in full costume, or marching bands in full gear, hats, with instruments checking on the star quarterback... It really demeaned the show.

Never watched ER but one of the few gripes on The Pitt is basically a minor version of that. Half the time there is a big emergency they will have a family member there in the room while they are getting their chest or brain cut open or a child dying and the family member will just be right there with a big gulp in their hand. This past episode they actually ushered out two family members when things got bad but they normally let them stay in the room. Just a pet peeve.

Natural disaster (a little limited with Pittsburg, but a big time earthquake episode would be legit, it’d have all the elements of seasons one and two and some new angles)

Severe blizzard/ice storm with power outages. My daughter said they had tons of patients after the ice storm in Nashville. One of her co-workers husbands was clearing a tree in their yard and had part of it fall on him. They had chain saw injuries, frostbite from homeless, electrocutions of power line workers (I know one who is a friend of many of my friends who is still in the hospital in N. La). It would definitely work for their area.

Agree with this, except I know multiple hospitals that have had cyber attacks. Things I hear about...the man that was loading cows and got messed up with the trailer and the cow...the homeless person that was high (there are TONS of these) and fell off a 10 foot retaining wall, the illegal that was hurt at work badly, the woman (true story) arrested at the hospital because she wrecked her car (high?) and killed one of her kids and put the other in the hospital. These stories happen every single day at a big trauma center. I've said it lots, but illegals and homeless are a disproportionate share of patients as are the very poor. The man having trouble getting dialysis...100% normal. There are actually homeless who use the ER as their dialysis provider. They can't be turned away. What y'all see as woke or crazy wanders into trauma centers every day all over the USA. For those that think the demographic of the criminals, homeless, and crazy at The Pitt is too white...look at the demographics of their city.

"Sir... we need you out of this room. Please sit here at the nurses' station where tons of important documents and orders are circulating at all times"

But then it's not like Langdon came back to universal praise. Robby treats him like shite and now Al-Hashimi knows and is on the hate wagon. We might not get resolution this season but it'll make for an interesting update on the next run.

Robby is going to be a patient after getting plowed on his motorcycle, and Langdon will do something miraculous to save him. Then all will be well.

I agree to an extent. However the show's format of showing us a single day/shift kind of requires this. The whole premise is that we are seeing major days/events, not just another day at the ED.

I agree with everyone frick Santos And jfc get off Langdons arse. He’s human, fvcked up, dealt with it and trying to be a better person.

I might be the only person here who loves Santos.

And I think her problems with Langdon stem more from how he treated her in the process rather than just what he did.

I love the show. But here are my general problems with this season/day.

A. Langdon is an addict. There are programs for nurse and doctors at every major facility. The shock at him returning after stealing meds is disingenuous. Everyone knows a doc or a nurse or both who have had this happen. I know 2 docs and about 5 nurses in a 20 year career. Him stealing meds. Is not a shock to anyone in the real world. It’s one of those things that makes zero sense. Had he stolen a box of pens or ream of paper? Fired. But narcotics. Get help. That’s just the way it is. We all know it.

Robby being upset or resistant to a second attending on a twelve hour shift is just not going to happen. This is a level 1 trauma center in a large ish city. You’re telling me there is one attending?? The rest of the staff are second and third years? And students ON THEIR FIRST day??

Good lord. What is there to love about her? I can't think of a reason to even like her in the slightest, much less love her character.

All this is probably the most unrealistic thing about the show to me. Even the smaller ERs I’ve been in have had like 3 attendings. And this is supposed to be a massive ER at a teaching hospital.

I’ve been around some medical students that were much smarter than I was as one, but some of these people are 3rd years doing their first EM rotation (or visiting 4th year on his first day at a new hospital) and know so much with so many responsibilities (led to Oglivie’s misreading on the ultrasound). But I guess saying “I’m not sure” or “I’ll look it up and get back to you” isn’t so entertaining

You may need to go to therapy

The actress probably hates the character let alone everyone else

One of the least likable characters ever put on tv

Like I said in another post, I think people would be more sympathetic to her character if she didn't have a shitty attitude with everyone else in the ER too.

I'm going to assume he means he loves Santos in the same way a person loves Anton Chigurh in No Country For Old Men.

The writers are doing a great job with her character because I absolutely despise a fictional character on a hospital drama. Her exchange with Langdon two episodes ago legitimately caused me to feel rage.
