This Holly is nerdy and autistic, only she's black. I fail to see the issue, and I'm usually pretty quick to call out faux diversity.

In an interview the showrunner stated he wanted to completely rewrite Holly’s character for the show, and when he approached King with the idea Stephen’s one request was that they kept the name Holly Gibney. I think Erivo was a fantastic choice.

Holly Gibney in Mr. Mercedes isn't nearly as effective at tracking and solving puzzles/crimes.

Ive rewatched all of them and its a great show. At first i was just like wtf is going on? But going back through has helped.

I never read theb King book/story. So far, the show seems a little convoluted to me.
Maybe I'll hang in til the end.

I enjoy it. But it's my favorite kinda theme. Sci fi/ horror meets true crime.
Have read a lot of stephen king books but never this one. I cant imagine someone playing the holly character this good but that's having not read the book. She's seems to fit IMO

I'm not going to stop watching the show, and I think Cynthia Erivo done well in the role so far, but I'm still conflicted mentally by a character who, as defined by Stephen King, is white.

It's a show that is made up of almost entirely white people, and you're bothered that a character who's race makes no difference is black. Thats ridiculous.

That was great. Mendelsohn and Erivo continue to kill the roles. Glad I caught this tonight but sad we have to wait 9 days for the next episode
