HBO dropped Outsider and Curb on Friday because of Super Bowl

Yes on HBO GO and I thought it was fantastic.

I’m really enjoying it. I finished the book Thursday and thought it was one of the better Stephen King books that have come out recently. Watched all the episodes that are out since then.
But they are definitely padding the runtime. I’m a little worried there are supposed to be 5 episodes left because there’s already been a fair amount of filler the last couple of episodes.
We don’t need to backtrack all the way to New York. I understand in part why they’re doing it but it just feels so slow. There is little momentum through it.
A lot of the Jack stuff feels added on. Why. And we just let Jack and Ralph just hate each other without having to have some BS reconciliation. We don’t need the Asian Cop mom stuff.
A lot of this is just mood stuff that doesn’t fit into the story or anything. This could easily have been a 7 part series.

Kings stories always seems to have a ton of characters. Aside from Cujo and even it goes into detail people that died quickly from the dog. Even before they main characters have the interaction with it

The thing is the show is adding more stuff to it. It’s not needed.

I havent read this one so I guess it's not bothering me.

And that’s fine. I’m just critical of all these slowdowns in shows for no reason. Like we as an audience already know what’s going on. Let’s move things forward. Let’s build more momentum, it’s not bad but in the big picture, it does nothing.
It’s m just tired in tv of seeing needless drama instead of real drama.

I was skeptical of this show bc it had a supernatural element, but man it has been fantastic. Shows do not usually creep me out and make me turn a light on but episode 5 did just that. The fact that it really drills down deep into the very fabric of human pain and suffering in the form of a supernatural being that pulls the strings makes it intriguing and creep af. I think this series has been incredibly done thus far and can’t wait to see where it goes from here.
ETA: Holly is one of my fave characters (so far) of all time.

You need to watch your comments, you’re not saying actual spoilers I suppose but you’re saying what is filler. For example, ‘Asian cop mom’ for all we know the evil thing is coming for the baby but evidently not since you call it filler. Zip it.

This show is awful. I’m out.
What don’t you like about it? Can see how people get turned off with it being based on a King book but this series has been extremely intriguing and scary/creepy af

Mush face freaked me out by just standing around but his voice is very unsettling. Great episode.

Love the episode and show but I’m worried that it’s 10 episodes.
Thought it was 7 or 8. I’m afraid they will have tons of filler in the next 5

See the title above. I got my arse kicked for posting book spoilers. After much guilty reflection I deleted my stuff. You should be careful. Yeah and by the way there are some differences in the two.

Wow. I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't love this show
Pacing. Some people can't pay attention to a show unless shite starts going down early and often.
Likely a side effect of Netflix binge-ing, a less patient audience

Yea that was easily the creepiest part so far.
But why doesnt he just kill/give Ralph the virus? He's tired of him snooping around, just do something about it, you're doing it to other people and he's one of the only two people on your trail. Do yourself a favor instead of messing around with these other people.

curious about this as well
Maybe he's limited to kids in who he can directly kill himself?
I'm thinking that's why he's got these neck rash servants that he uses for menial tasks.
SPOILER IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THE LATEST EPISODE:
Also, wondering if Ralph's son at the end of Episode 5 is a dream or the doppelganger. He could've grabbed his old tooth brush or hair brush or something to get DNA to look like him in an effort to get Ralph to leave him be.
I doubt it, but it would be neat.

Doubt it too. Earlier his friend the cop says, "Dreams are warnings". I think Ralph's grief over his son's death makes him vulnerable to the Hoodie. His son wants him to let him go to protect him. Also, wouldn't the hoodie want him to hold on to his grief so that he might "enjoy" it?

This precise question is covered in the book. Stephen King has an explanation.

Glad I didn’t read the book. you are upset about things only because you read the book and know the story. Non readers have no idea what is filler.... unless of course you tell us

Jfc, I’m not going to beat this horse anymore. No one cares about your opinion of the entire book vs halfway through the season for tv watchers. Clearly stated in the OP this is not the place for book talk. Take your opinions to the book board if you want to talk
