Thought it was 7 or 8.
Wikipedia lists 10 episodes. Finale airs March 8.

Pay attention to the thing in the hoodie.
When is the first time that guy appears? When everyone is standing outside the house and he's on the sidewalk?

SPOILER
I think the first time he is seen (by us viewers) is when Terry Maitland is being escorted to the courthouse. He is in the crowd. Can't remember if that is episode 1 or 2. I know more but that's all I can say.

Beginning of Episode 2

He is at Terry's house in Ep1 - on the sidewalk - while the police are searching it after he is arrested.

I need to go back and look at episode 1. When all of this is over, after episode 10 we can cite some of the differences between the book and the HBO series. But there are a number differences all along the way. And as some have suggested there are quite a few more things going on in the show than in the book. But I'm loving the show. It is really good.

Non readers have no idea what is filler.
"Filler" is one of the stupidest terms IMO. If people dont want the details just read a synopsis and why bother watching.

Is the book a short story? How is that even possible

Slight Spoiler
No. It was over 500 pages. But it drove to conclusion a bit differently than we are seeing. For example I just don't recall the woman in jail in New York. I don't think that was in the book. And I find that story very interesting in the movie. I don't know how many have picked up on it but these people jailed for the supposed murder of these children are at risk of being killed in jail as they are despised. But this woman is tough enough to protect herself. She is the only surviving person who's DNA was stolen save for any recent people. And Holly Gibney knows she is innocent. So as small a point as this may seem now, I am quite interested if they can get back to her before the series ends and get her released as an innocent. She does not belong in prison.

Do you not even see the title of this thread?

I do. I haven’t spoiled anything. I speculate about the show like the rest of you. Any other questions? If I’m seeing for the first time my speculation is as good as yours. I hope the Latina gets out of prison. I have no idea if she will.

This is why people hate texans.

Get out of the thread if you’re going to ignore the title. I’m sure you’re proud you read the book but we would all like to enjoy this show without your blabbering!

I'm enjoying this show like most of the people ITT, but the hyperbole on this board of the type above always makes me chuckle.

This precise question is covered in the book. Stephen King has an explanation.
Have you by chance read the book The Outsider by Stephen King? I couldn't tell by going through this thread
