Man I’m on episode 7 of season 2. This show doesn’t disappoint. The acting is incredible, I love the music selection (weird I know but I enjoy music) and I’m loving the development of some of the characters. Truly amazing show.

Not weird. The score lends so much to the series. Don’t want to derail the thread so I’ll stop posting about this, but Leftovers was the best HBO series of the 2010s

I hate to be mean but in my most honest opinion I thought this show wasn’t very good. The first two episodes were great and then it went downhill. The acting was average at best. Some of the camera work was shotty. They had a good storyline but the way it ended was terrible. The scene with the el cucco thing at the end was cringe worthy. I thought the El Cucco should have had more camera time. Too much screen time for the detectives.
Absolutely nailed how I felt about it

Just watched it. The scratch is fricking stupid.
He never moved when she got near him and she was wearing a long sleeve blue jean shirt. Not even possible for him to reach up her sleeve without knowing.
And not only that in the mid credits scene she is washing her fricking hands and forearms in the sink and never notices it? Definitely a dumb “cliffhanger”
After saying all that. The show was good. I enjoyed it.

I never bought into the hype this show was getting from people either. From episode one, I was pretty sure it wouldn’t be good. I stayed with it cause it was only 10 episodes. Definitely not tuning in if they do season two.
All the ending did was make everything way more confusing. I feel like people wanted this to be more than it was, and better than it really was, when in reality, it just wasn’t a good show.

First 3 episodes are fantastic.

Andy Greenwald of the Ringer said he spoke with someone in the shows production and asked for clarification on that and basically it was really poorly done, but that was suppose to be Holly's way of saying like "this conversation never happened... what conversation?". Doesn't make sense to me but idk.
That’s exactly what I thought she was saying. But I can see how it was confusing, especially with everything that followed.
Even just thinking about it logically, her response doesn’t make sense for what the writers meant by it. Ralph wasn’t telling her they had to forget about Terry. He was just saying they had to keep El Cuco a secret and find another explanation to exonerate Terry. The more logical response would have been, “what is an El Cuco”, or something like that.

If that wasn't the intent, I would think Ralph would have questioned her at that moment, or at least had a reaction if he thought that comment was suspicious.

Everything you said was true.

I would honestly love to get an opinion from someone who truly believes this is a top hbo show.
Yea for this to be a top 3 HBO show for someone then they would have had to of only watched 3 HBO shows ever.

They put that reveal in the middle of the credits for some reason, so if you turned it off right after they cut to black you would have missed it
That's exactly what happened. I went back and watched. It was odd for sure.

I think it would've been ideal if I had not seen it.

I agree that as a show/story, it wasn't all that great.
I still enjoyed the acting, and the creepy, unsettling tone of the show though.

So overall it looks like a lot of you think it tailed off into mediocrity. Maybe they should have packed it into eight episodes.

I don’t think the length had anything to do with it. I feel the story lent itself to that arc. The enjoyment I got out of the series was the mystery and investigation. Once it was obvious what the situation was, I was much less intrigued...it was just a game of chase after that

When they were having the standoff and Cuco made the first few rocks fall by screaming everyone started looking up at the roof of the cave, when their attention came back to Cuco he was all of a sudden behind Ralph which made Ralph scream "stay the frick back". I'm assuming that at some point during that teleportation he scratched Holly. It wasn't a very well done scene but I do remember saying while I was watching it that he could have easily scratched one of them.
