The new Eddie Murphy movie is just absolutely horrible.

The jokes just weren't funny compared to previous Eddie Murphy movies and Pete Davidson is so freaking odd looking. He tries too hard for laughs.

He really dropped off - it's crazy to watch his stuff from the 80s and then more recent stuff.

I’m not sure I can think of a single piece of decent Eddie Murphy work from this millennium. Which is odd because it seemed he could do no wrong in the 80-90s.

I thought he was pretty good in Dolemite Is My Name. Not near his past greatness, but it was an enjoyable movie.

If anyone wants to make the claim for a celebrity being cloned with a lesser version, it's Eddie.
He started doing this weird thing around the Nutty Professor where he does a black woman shaking her finger, and he seemingly just does that for everything for the last 25+ yrs.
He's simply not even in the same realm of what he was in the 80s and early 90s.
He also wanted to be in control of everything in the project instead of top projects being fed to him, and it was has been detrimental ever since. Basically, he's the Micheal Jordan as an owner comp. He hasn't made anything even remotely close to being good in almost 30 yrs

Mr. Church (2016) was a decent enough movie.

I really thought Eddie could’ve made the comedic-dramatic change that so many of his contemporaries made. I guess we’ll never know.

Distinguished Gentleman is bad but it didn't bomb. Beverly Hills Cop 3 is bad but it made over 100 mil. Boomerang is awesome and it made over 100 mil. Vampire in Brooklyn was the only bomb.

Murphy admitted that he softened up when his daughters got older and started watching his movies.
