It was made to be viewed in B/W

I watched a couple in color & switched to b&w. Stuck with & preferred b&w. I wish it had a little bit more noir to it. The secretary was distracting.

"I saw this came out a couple days ago. Watching episode 1 in black & white. Cat Hardy singing in the night club kinda sucked me in."

I watched all 8 episodes this past Wednesday, it was entertaining although some eps could use some work. Flipped back and forth multiple times and enjoyed B&W best.

Why can’t they just make a show true to the fricking original Spider Man Character?

There’s at least 50 years of material to work from.

It truly is a wonder to behold. The man does what no other actor can or will do. It's refreshing.

Watched the first episode and enjoyed it.

Black and white on a huge screen at night with all the lights turned off is really hard to beat.

The Spider-Man Noir comic came out in 2009. Also Sony wouldn’t allow Amazon to use the actual character names so that’s why he’s not called Peter Parker and also why his alter ego is referred to as the spider

Its actually pretty decent. I think it gets a little too far away from its noir themes at times for shots that give the audience a little too much room to breathe

I'm 2+ episodes in and would echo the same sentiment. I grew up watching a lot of noir with my father and was going to recommend this show, but I think it gets a little too modern/sultry for his tastes (like the news reporter talking to a woman about being covered in whipped cream (?))

Enjoying it in general so far though. I don't know if Cage got Botox or something, but I find myself struggling to understand what he's saying sometimes

Apologies if this was already mentioned but I would have never guessed this is the same actress

Sinners:

I didn't realize there was an option to watch in B&W. May try it again.

Didn't really get into the first 2 episodes, but I'm not familiar with the comics character at all.

Just read that there’s some contract between Marvel and Sony that states Peter Parker/Spider-Man can never abuse alcohol, smoke tobacco, curse excessively, or kill outside of extreme self-defense.

It’s a “Boy Scout Clause”.

Basically what you said but expanded upon.

I just finished it up. I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Nic Cage was not my idea of a good Spider Man but the overall production, writing, and style was too good of a combination and overcame my misgivings. LaMorne Morris was great and I really enjoyed the secretary's character as well. Brendan Gleeson is as good as he always is. Great production and unique style is a rarity these days and it shined brightly.

She was also Lady Fay Zhu in Babylon.

All three films are period pieces set about the same time...

Saw this recommendation for the episodes:

1- 3: B/W
4-5: Color
6: B/W
7-8: Color
