Slow Horses - Apple TV

So I just started Season 1 of Slow Horses. I enjoyed the 1st couple episodes. But the big picture topic that if you want to limit immigration, are patriotic, and maintain the ideals and culture of your home country you are a nazi and a fascist. This is so tiresome and of course the nemesis of this season are the group of white men that kidnapped a British citizen who is a Pakistani.
Is this a constant theme of the show in subsequent seasons? Do they ever take the risky route of going after muslim rape gangs or muslim violence and intolerance?
If this them is constant through the seasons, I might have to punch out. But I like the show and grumpy Gary Oldman is awesome, even though he is a terrible boss.

I binged the shite out of this when i got my appendix out last october. I enjoyed it but got burned out by the end and never finished season 5.

I don't remember being hit over the head with that stuff every season. Later seasons have Russian sleeper cells, a lot of inter-agency corruption, some of River's backstory.

I enjoyed the show and S6 comes out in September. I don’t really remember anything preachy when I watched, although I don’t overly pay much attention to such things unless it’s too transparent. And Oldman is absolutely terrific.

it's easily one of the best shows on tv right now. Not overly political at all. I
I've seen every season and can't wait for the new season. Just read the first book as well, and while it had that story line it didn't come off as political to me.

Slow Horses is great. Stop looking for politicial subtexts in everything and just enjoy it. Gary Oldman absolutely kills the role.

its an easy watch and fantastic. Dont read too much into it. Its based on novels from a while back.

Slow Horses is one of the best shows on Apple and the gold standard for production scheduling. The new season 6 drops in September and they have already filmed season 7. While it hasn’t been officially renewed, season 8 is said to be in development.

I think how he writes his books helps; they're almost a screenplay already so they don't need a lot of work. I didn't think about it when I read them but when I saw the show a lot of the dialogue is a straight lift.

Thanks for the input fellas. I'll keep watching. I was just curious if every season was going to preachy. I've just gotten Apple TV to watch F1 and have watching some of the series they have. The spy thing is up my alley so I plan on watching.

That's not it at all. I wasn't offended, I don't want to be preached at about immigration while ignoring the other side.
Actually with TV, it seems they are scared to show minorities or immigrants doing crimes because they will get offended. So it cuts both ways. I'm fine if both sides are shown doing crime because I know it happens.

Almost done with Season 1. It's pretty awesome. I enjoy the thought required trying to figure things out as the team is figuring things out.

British tv typically has no issue with that compared to stuff produced here, especially concerning minorities. Their center is still left of ours, so you won't see many (if any) jabs at the left while it's expected that a Boris Johnson type in a tv show is bad, but they don't usually get stupid about it.
