Your assertion that Negan is too much of an a-hole to act in his own self interest is what doesn't make any sense.

how is leaving the kingdom alone in his self interest?
he'd get the same from them no matter what, maybe more...plus he'd have the pleasure of fricking with them which is clearly what makes him happiest

It makes perfect, simple sense. You just have to think about it a little.

That's a little too much to ask for most of the posters here.

That's not what he's said. His main interest is having people work for him. Grow crops. Raise livestock. Provide him with food and supplies. That's #1. If you provide for him there'll be no trouble. Rick killed his people- a lot of them. He's in the process of breaking Ricks crew down. He'll do it if necessary.

Did you not get from his 5 minute monologue to Michonne that everything he's doing right now is to keep from losing anybody else? That means more than just keeping them alive.

Negan said he wanted to ask Maggie if she would go back with him, but do you really think he would take no for an answer? Right now, guns aren't worth hiding for him. Especially with Negan showing up early before they're fully prepared. But a human life is. Especially a pregnant woman who was married to his best friend that just got his head smashed in.

there is no doubt in my mind that the pigs being fed walker meat will play a role. I have to assume it's tainted and slowly poisoning them.

It's not. Remember the Terminus people were eating other people and everyone is already infected with whatever it is causing this.

Exactly.
And Negan recently found out that they were the ones who blew up his biker crew. The Kingdom probably complied immediately so he let them keep their things like guns. They haven't proven to be a threat to him yet unlike Rick & co. and maybe even the Hilltoppers.

Once again, somebody please tell me why this was a 90 minute episode.

Because you watched and they got extra commercial revenue?

Interesting Negan has already threatened to kill the next person if they don't have something for him next week. I am hoping someone will have a breaking point and fight back.

Spencer seems to be on the short list. Wanting to go against Negan and Rick, dude is sloppy and has been lucky. Not to mention annoying.

It's obviously a political play on 2nd amendment

So throughout History, is not one of the first things a conquering army does is to de-arm the defeated?

I don't blame Carl. Neagan was going to take the guns anyway.

They have. When they were going into Alexandria, they buried guns because the leader didn't want them inside the safe zone. However, there is a clear difference in the original Alexandrians and the Saviours.

The biggest issue for me is lying about Maggie.

Is anyone else starting to feel like a little Negan goes a long way? I think the actor is doing excellent but an hour and a half episode of him doing his thing got a little tiresome for me. That's one of the problems with these singular focus episodes.

Also, why try to get us to be sympathetic towards Dwight in the last episode only to have him be an absolute evil d-bag in this episode. They took me on a journey with Dwights character last episode only to put me right back at square one during the first 10 minutes of this episode. That seems like bad writing.

Thats fine. But I couldnt stand how all of the sudden Rick went back to trying to sound tough. If I was Spencer Id call him out on that for being a complete bitch in front of Negan (for good reason), then trying to play the tough guy role to Spencer.

Yeah but if you are Spencer you also want to keep your teeth, and you know Rick is capable of knocking them out of your skull.

There is a pecking order, and right now Negan is above Rick, but Rick is still way above Spencer.

Spencer is a bitch, though. He doesn't have the balls to stand up to Rick. Instead, he keeps trying to go behind Rick's back to subvert him. Sexy Rosita was really stupid to do what she did in his presence. He'll probably try to use that to sell them out to Negan and get in his good graces.

I think it's to show that badass Rick is still there, but he's doing what it takes to keep Negan from killing people until they can figure something out.

I get what you're saying about Negan, but maybe Dwight can't let up, because Negan doesn't let up. So maybe it serves a purpose.
