The universal truth of media is "if I don't get what I want how i want for how much I want, I'll steal it."

Thievery is thievery.

Definitely some legitimate questions being asked in here about it, watching on your phone while at work or somewhere else, owning more than two homes, etc.

I think this is going to wind up being a cluster for them and along with the rising costs and so-so content they might be in for some trouble

Netflix allows 4 simultaneous streams at once, it's thievery that they are trying to lock that into one house, one location.

Right back at them.

Except for the people who use the family account at school or who own two homes or who travel. So now I can’t use my Netflix account on my laptop at a hotel or if I’m on the road or something?

I’m sure they aren’t going to hassle you for every log in that’s not at home.

It’s the log ins at the same place that isn’t at home for months they will bring up.

They may regret it but they desperately need the revenue spike so probably worth a shot. I don’t see any other lever

Are they going to try to charge me extra for my step daughter to use it at my house and her dad’s house about 20 miles away? If so, frick them.

It would be good for one quarterly boost which would help build stock confidence. CASH OUT THEN before it start to free fall.

Some...

I think people will start to cancel and only pay for like 1 month per year. Maybe use that month to binge The Witcher or Stranger Things, etc.

That's how all streaming should be consumed. Most people refuse that method though.

I cancelled today after 10 years. They asked why so I told them "too woke".

How does that work when I travel and the hotel has Netflix as an option to stream? I need to pay extra to use that?

Most hotels and the like will have a static IP address that they'll probably be able to register.

If the location isn't then... no idea.

They already charge more to have multiple people use it at once. This is some bullshite double dipping on fees.

been sailing the high seas for three years now. if they ever make that impossible, I just won't watch anything they produce. The stuff they have that I do like is turning to shite anyway.

Maybe booting Barry and Mike will help, but I doubt it.

Yeah, I have lots of questions about traveling, my kid using it in college

Precisely my question as well. Hell I’m on the road 8-9 months a year and my son in college watches it too. I hope for his sake Stranger Things starts soon because we’ll cancel too if these scenarios mean additional charges.

How does this work when I log in at a condo, or my kids use their iPads on a freind's wifi at their house? Or when they sleep at their grandparents?

It'll probably be associated with the IP address of your device, with a pop-up that asks if you are traveling when you log-in from a hotel or airbnb on a different device.

Between this and my price going up to $20/mo, I'm pretty close to cancelling. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
