The Shining.
I think Shelly Duval was miscast and dragged the movie down.

The first Black Panther movie. People were heaping praise on that movie like it was the greatest movie ever made. It’s average at best.

Tell the board you only saw the TV version of Caddy Shack. Not that it should matter, but damn. That's considered by many part of the great comedy movies from the era. (1978-81)

Caddyshack
Blues Brothers
Animal House
Stripes

another overrated movie that i recently watched is The Exorcist.

absolute dog crap. this was supposed to be scary but its actually pretty funny. that demon would be a good hang at the pub for a few beers.

I don’t know if I’d say “overrated”, but definitely didn’t live up to all the hype

No Country for Old Men
Chinatown
Apocalypse Now
In Bruges

Easiest answer - Avatar
There will be blood
Gangs of New York
The shape of water
The Force Awakens (sucked when it came out, but was largely lauded by critics and audiences)

Well yeah, by today's standards the effects are pretty cheesy but you gotta keep in mind. This was a major release that showed a pre-teen girl fricking herself bloody with a crucifix and then rubbing her mother's face in it.

That's some rough stuff right there, no matter the decade. Nowadays, that's a fringe art house horror movie. Back then it played at your local theater.

My favorite movie takes place in the desert (Lawrence of Arabia)

My two least favorite movies that are acclaimed take place in the desert...

The English Patient and...

Absolutely horrible boring drivel and by David Lean no less. From my favorite picture to the worst.
