Moonlight - probably only "rated" by the film critics, but what a terrible movie
I thought the first two acts were solid and well done. The third act was painful and boring. That spinny camera shot thing got old really quick.

Either way, not a Best Picture, I thought Arrival was the best that year.

'No, man. We blew it.'

I went to the IMDB top 250 movie list and scrolled until something made me stop. I got to #25, which was Interstellar. I enjoyed Intestellar, but top 25 movie of all time?

Interstellar is arguably a top #25 movie by most metrics.

Arguably.

The only thing he chews up with a Chianti is the scenery.

I can understand not liking the film but I'm curious why you think Anthony Hopkins chewed up scenery as Hannibal when for most of the movie his voice is at about 20 decibels and he's hardly moving

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

The promotion on that was through the roof. It would have been fine if the entire movie wasn't in the multitude of previews.

Seems like if you're preferring action-oriented movies, then highly acclaimed non-action movies may come across as overrated.

And vice-versa.

Honestly, I didn't really see the appeal of "It's a Wonderful Life", but that's probably more of having to watch it a lot as a kid when I despised black and white movies. If I had not watched it until I was older I might appreciate it.

As it is, it just annoys me.

Mrs. ClusterCock and I were at a party and some pretentious professor type told us Banshees of Inisherin was the one of the greatest movies ever made. We often can't agree on what to watch and just pick something so we can get on with our lives. We watched with great anticipation on our movie night. We both kept waiting for it to get better and stuck it out till the end...it never did get better.
The suckage was great.

There are a lot but one that stands out is Reservoir Dogs. But then again, I think anything Tarantino does is way overrated.

Neg away.

Mad Max Fury Road. The only thing I’ve seen more overrated on this board is the Last of Us.

For me.. it was the new Top Gun. Was it a great movie? Absolutely. Was it the best movie ever made in the history of great movies? Not even close

I’m not bashing the new Top Gun because it was great but the overreaction of some people was just crazy to me.
