Yeah the whole "Don't Say Gay" deal blew up in their face bad in hindsight.
They got called out for not supporting the LGBT community by their workers, decided to get them more freedom with their projects to show they are allies, but kept it where they could still edit the stuff out for other countries to get their films shown there.
They want their cake and to eat it too but all they did was piss off both sides of the fence.

Considering I cancelled my Disney+ a while back and haven’t missed it at all, looks like I’m still not missing anything.
Remember when we actually got movies about characters people care about? Everything feels like an agenda now. I really hope these projects tank but at this point I don’t even think they care as much about the money as sending a message.

It's also possible that this one simply made it through because it was already in production (with a lot of changes - I think the title itself changed, what, 4 times?).
I was curious during the first trailer for the, oh, 5-10 seconds when it looks like Agatha might be a police detective who keeps stumbling on clues of her past life or something. Then checked out when the rest of it appeared.
That first tiny bit in the trailer - that's a show that would've been interesting to me - a person who literally lost their past and as the uncover it, find out they were a terrible person? Then they have to decide if they want to keep uncovering more or let it go? Way more interesting that whatever that is.
