I know these shows are getting out of hand and Solo wasn't all that good, but Glover knocked it out of the park as Lando IMO. I'd be interested.

Lucasfilm and Donald Glover are at least discussing the Lando Calrissian Disney Plus series despite it going quiet since being announcened in 2020.
Glover hasn't been cast in the show but fans are eager for him to reprise his role as Lando following his portrayal of the space scoundrel in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Speaking to GQ, Glover has now confirmed that he and Lucasfilm are definitely talking about the possibility.
"Lando is definitely somebody I'd like to hang out with," Glover said. "I mean we're talking about it. That's as much as I can say, you know, without [Lucasfilm president] Kathleen Kennedy hunting me down."
Though he was unable to reveal if the show is in active development, or if he has a role in it at all, Glover did make clear that he'd be up for playing Lando again if the project was done right.
"I would love to play Lando again. It's a fun time to be him," Glover said. "It just needs to be the right way to do it."
He continued: "I'm not interested in doing anything that's just gonna be a waste of my time or just a paycheck. I'd much rather spend time with people that l enjoy. So it just has to be the right thing, which I think it could be."
Lucasfilm and Disney haven't said a thing about the series, simply titled Lando, since it was announced in December 2020. "The galaxy’s favourite scoundrel, Lando Calrissian, will return in Lando, a brand-new event series for Disney+," it said at the time. "Justin Simien is in the early stages of developing the project."
Another indication the show is still in development came in March 2023 as Disney began cleaning up its vague list of upcoming projects, even scrapping some films from the schedule, but Lando's cancellation wasn't mentioned here.

He looks nothing like Carl weathers

Solo was great, with some minor annoyances like the lady droid. It was just released too close to Rian Johnson’s abortion.

Hard Pass. Solo was not good.

They really have no creativity. This sounds boring. Let's take a side character from a movie that bombed and do an entire show about him.

Who wants this?

Can’t wait to explore all of his non binary adventures throughout the universe

Seems like a Donald Glover vanity/passion project.

Solo was a very mediocre movie with mediocre writing and mediocre characters. Taking a mediocre character out of his movie and giving him his own show is a recipe for disaster IMO

Lando was a scallywag, who enjoyed the Star Wars equivalent of strip clubs, prostitutes, drug dealing, and gun-running, and eventually conned his way into going "straight" with the gas mine.
Glover may be able to make this into something mediocre, but it will probably have a heavy 70s pimp vibe to it like how he played the character in the Solo film, and feel nothing like the Star Wars.
It will basically be Shaft in space, which may actually be a decent idea, but will in no way help repair all the damage star wars has done to its brand and fans base over the last 6+ yrs.

I actually enjoyed the Solo movie but who is asking for these series?

It was better than it got credit for. I enjoyed it.

I watched Solo out of some strange feeling of obligation. I no longer have that feeling so I haven’t watched Rise of Skywalker and probably wouldn’t watch this Lando movie. Which sounds like it won’t actually get made anyway.

Pansexual Lando taking Twilek dicks or whatever, written by the same brain trust who gave us Boba Fett and Obi Wan. I don't even feel like hate watching this shite anymore.

They will never allow it to evolve into something like this. That would be to adult for Disney target audience.

Only question that matters: How involved is Kathleen Kennedy?
