Both are great and offer two different gameplay experiences. As others have said, COD is more run and shoot and high-paced, while Battlefield is full-scale, large map warfare.

COD was undeniably better and more popular at its peak. Both Battlefield and COD peaked insanely high in the late 2000s/early 2010s, but earlier COD games like Modern Warfare, WaW, MW2, Black Ops, MW3, and BO2 are considered some of the greatest first person shooters of all time. Modern Warfare's online multiplayer was one of the most revolutionary gaming experiences we've ever seen - it fundamentally redefined the first person shooter genre and created a blueprint that first person shooter games still use today.

Battlefield has always had deeper gameplay but was less approachable due to its more complex nature. So, it wasn't as popular as COD was back then. That's not to say that Battlefield games weren't good - I started Battlefield at BF3 and played BF4 and Battlefield 1 (World War 1 era) a good bit. Finding a tank and blowing shite up with it is a really cool experience BF offers that COD can't.

It wasn't until last year that Battlefield became more popular than COD in terms of sales - Battlefield 6 outsold COD Black Ops 7 over the year 2025, marking a massive shift in gamer interest from COD to Battlefield.

If you're looking for what people are currently playing, Battlefield 6 is the better choice over COD BO7. Any of the more modern COD titles are really not worth playing. Battlefield 6 usually gets a few million weekly active players worldwide per week I think, I read somewhere around 1.5 million on console.

Here's the thing though - the original Black Ops 2 game from like 2012 or 2013 was just ported over to modern consoles and is available on both the PS and Xbox stores. As of three weeks ago, the modern port of Black Ops 2 reached 5.25 MILLION weekly players on Playstation alone.

So, here's the answer to your question - historically, COD is a better game series than Battlefield and it's not particularly close. COD's earlier entries outshine anything Battlefield has ever produced, and modern ports of older COD games are outperforming Battlefield's current product. Which ever game you like will come down to preference obviously, but there's no doubt that COD is the better game series overall.

If LSU paid them an offset in their new deal at LSU to satisfy the buyout, and the players just haven't paid Ole Miss, how is that LSU's fault?

Recent reporting around LSU’s football program don’t really point to LSU paying players up front. It kinda points to the opposite. Y’all were even making jokes in this thread about paying players up front, so I probably wouldn’t go with this theory

Bottom line is someone fed these players bad information. It seems like someone told them that OM wouldn’t pursue any legal action if no one paid the buyouts - we’re now in frick around and find out territory. The buyouts are gonna have to be paid at some point soon or else the players could find themselves in hot water. I’m not implying that LSU is the problem here to be clear, I’m just curious to see how this gets resolved

As a head coach, being a good team manager is better than being a good X's and O's guy. X's and O's can be left to coordinators and assistant coaches to some degree, but your head coach has to be the team manager and tone setter for the program no matter what.

Bonus points if you're a good program builders AND a good X's and O's guy

Deuce Knight is our backup QB. He's a raw player but has some good running ability. I'm not sure if he'll ever be a great college QB, but he's a high-end backup for us this year

I'll openly admit I really didn't want to lose him and Weiss. It sucked when it happened, Kiffin is the best head coach we have had in my lifetime and watching him walk to a rival wasn't very fun. As the process went on, it was very clear that Kiffin wanted to leave, but that he also wanted to stay through the end of the season. Basically, he wanted to have his cake and eat it too. I disagreed with that and am glad that we decided to let him walk rather than keep him around amidst all the rumors that he was leaving.

Obviously, Pete Golding isn't Kiffin, and likely never will be. Simultaneously, Pete Golding isn't Matt Luke - Pete Golding was a good DC for us and does a great job recruiting, while Matt Luke was a below average OL coach that was clearly in over his head from the beginning. I'm hoping that Pete can lean on his experience under Kiffin and Saban to keep the ship upright for a few seasons.

I don't expect Pete to be a long-term answer, but I'll give him credit where credit is due; his first recruiting class has been pretty good so far. Not a top 10 class or anything, but he might put together the best high school class we've had since the Freeze era. Can't complain about that.

TL;DR - I didn't want to lose Kiffin and Weiss. I'm in wait and see mode with Pete but am cautiously optimistic.
It's already been answered, but it takes more intertia to start the fan blades in motion than it does to keep them in motion. Also, for a box fan to blow air at a speed that is worthwhile, the blades have to spin pretty quick, even at the "low" setting
He is a good coach and has been for a long time. He let his personal life get in the way of his ascension when he was at Alabama, had to do a coaching reset stint at FAU, and had a lot of success at Ole Miss despite not having elite recruiting classes. He's a proven offensive guru that should be able to have a lot of success at LSU.

^if I were an LSU fan, that's how I'd look at him. That's how I look at him as a Rebel fan
Gene Chizik is easily the best answer here
I have a feeling that Charlie Weis Jr. is going to be a solid head coach someday. He's a good offensive mind and has had a chance to learn under one of the best head coaches in football today in Kiffin. Idk when he'll make the jump, he's only 33 years old so he still has a long time to be a head coach. You gotta feel that someone with as much coaching background as him is gonna take a HC job at some point
No. 89 overall prospect and no. 3 player in the state of Mississippi, Ben'Jarvius Shumaker, has been committed to Ole Miss since March of 2026. Earlier today, he flipped his commitment to Colorado around noon. Roughly nine hours later, Shumaker flipped his commitment back to Ole Miss, apologizing for the "confusion" around his recruitment.

This sport is cooked beyond belief but God it is fun

I like Buccee's. We stop at the one between Birmingham and Atlanta sometimes. There is normally plenty of parking and it's not insanely crowded inside. Their beef jerky is really darn good

They have the money to throw at someone and tamper, why are they hitching their wagon to something so radioactive?

Because the idea for years has been to fight the NCAA tooth and nail regardless of how wrong you might be. Problem is, they're so far in the wrong here that the general public despises them. This isn't a case of a kid seeking an extra year of eligibility because he was taking care of his sick mom - it's a kid who illegally bet on his own team's football games and is trying to play regardless.

Pure lunacy
I can't wait for Mike to retire. This is such a typical performance for us. We had an outside shot at getting a host spot if we won 2-3 games in this tournament, now we're getting blasted in the first game we play. No energy, no fight, just a lackluster, uninspired performance.
Give me the 4-2-5 with an exceptional star/husky/whatever you like to call the hybrid player. You get 5 DBs that can cover spread passing concepts and keep 6 guys in the box to defend the run.
Cover 1 is a risky proposition in college unless your corners are top notch. Any time I see college teams playing Cover 1, I immediately look outside to the X receiver and see how the corner is covering him. If the corner is pressing the X receiver, it's game over. You might give up more yards underneath playing Cover 3, but you're less likely to give up the deep shot.

I'd lean Cover 3 myself
