I, for one, would absolutely watch “Shaft: In SPACE” starring Donald Glover.

I would also bring in Hondo as his rival/frienemy and Darth Maul/Cad Bane as the recurring antagonists.

Shaft in Space played by Glover is probably a much better idea than the entire Star Wars machine will ever come up with.

Glover could actually just do that role anyway without star wars attached to it.

Think of a film that is Ice Pirates-esque, but actually good.

I'd go see that.

I honestly can't believe Disney fricked this up as bad as they did.

And they don't stop. No brakes in this train.

I hated Solo but don't hate this idea. Alden Ehrenreich just couldn't compare to how cool Harrison Ford was as Han Solo. Donald Glover, on the other hand, is just as cool and much more interesting actor than Billy Dee Williams. Also, Lando doesn't have near the story arc Han Solo did in the original movies. There may still be some meat on that bone.

I liked Solo.
Solo was ok, but 'meh'. Nothing special. And consider Han Solo is an iconic character, right up there with Indiana Jones.

Take that story out of the Star Wars property, and it's forgettable. Firefly did the train heist as well or better, with less than a 10th of the budget.
