Based on her popularity, it’s no accident that Shuri was front and center in one of the best-remembered sequences from Avengers: Endgame — when Marvel’s many female heroes assembled in a heroic tableau as they make their final stand against Thanos. That scene prompted calls for an all-female Avengers movie that Wright herself has been campaigning for, and key Marvel Studios executives like Victoria Alonso and Kevin Feige have endorsed.

“I don’t think we have to fight for it,” she says of how that proposed team-up is coming together. “Victoria Alonso is very strong about spearheading it, alongside Kevin. It’s only a matter of time before they do it.”

Asked who her dream line-up for the movie would be, Wright makes it clear she’s thinking big, starting with her Black Panther co-stars, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o and Angela Basset aka “Mama Angela.” Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie is also in the mix, as is the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most powerful player, Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, both of whom were featured in that Endgame scene alongside Shuri.

“Definitely have to have Captain Marvel, definitely,” Wright says. With Shuri and Captain Marvel side by side, an all-female Avengers movie would absolutely fly higher, further faster... to the top of the box office charts

Would the M/TV board show up to watch this?

What should she say?

What made that scene even more ridiculous is that all of the female heroes in that scene had been actively involved in important parts of the fight.

But they all stopped what they were doing for a selfie.

This. I don't necessarily want an All male Avengers film either.

I thought the Thanos sequence was fairly gend
er and ethnic balanced, at least proportionally.

Just shows you that equality is never good enough.

I don’t think I’ve ever rolled my eyes so hard during a scene ever. They couldn’t help themselves.

This. Huge battle going on and cut to posing females trying to look badass. It was so freaking ridiculous. The only saving grace was you knew disney was going to force something like this in and in the end it was short and small enough that it didnt kill the movie. However, it stood out for what it was and it was ridiculous.

Simply that she's a fan of the Avengers franchise would be honored to be cast in a new film. There is zero reason to emphasize that she is a Black women, we already know that, or that she is a woman, we already know that.

We will know when we have arrived as a mature society when people are selected for roles in life based on their race or sex or anything else not germane to the job at hand.

Think about it this way...

I don't think they have the audience for that, but I understand why she would want that product.

If they make all-female leads with ancillary males, why should I care until I see the movie? It could be good or bad.

I personally would prefer an attempt at that than - has been stated - anything forced - which has been very transparent.

if it's a good movie, sure.

if it's girl power for girl power's sake, with a shitty story, no.

Captain Marcel, AKA Superman Lite, doesn’t need a team up movie. The fact she would even need assistance at this point is hilarious. They went too OP for her. She doesn’t really fit. Anywhere.

Pretty sure she's talking about A-Force which has certainly been rumored for some time now.
