Agreed. That scene was satisfying. Best one of that episode. Cole didn’t “go out like a champ” at all. His whole downfall was the result of his own ego and delusion. He built a heroic fantasy in his head, and the reality was a directionless blowhard dragging people into a mess he created.

Another main character that know one cares about killed by a house and character that no one cares about.
I had high hopes for this season but it looks like we'll probably just get the usual 2-3 episodes and the rest just filler with bad dialogue and uninteresting characters.

That still doesn’t make it an entertaining show, but that’s why it ain’t all dragons all the time. They are not reconquering Westeros at the moment.

But, maybe send in the Stark army from the North to go in and get them. You might have collateral damage, but you're not burning the city. And I bet the men from the North would destroy those green shirted little bitches.

they are on their way there. Cole had them hung up. They haven’t done a very good job of building any tension which is the problem

They have really dropped the ball on this show. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that last season sucked because of budget constraints but this season isn't looking much better. If they aren't actively killing people, every other part of this show falls flat.

It’s amazing how low budget this show looks and feels despite how expensive it is. It’s incredible how poorly written all of the characters and dialogue are, and how poorly paced the episodes are. We know HBO is better than this because we have seen them be better than this. AKOTSK looked great, was written well, and paced perfectly. It makes the HOTD slop look so much worse by comparison.

That’s because AKOTSK was written by Martin. Not just the stories, but a lot of the dialogue.
In some ways, it’s probably not fair to expect HOTD to be anywhere near the same standard. That’s not to say show runners don’t deserve blame.
I haven’t read Fire and Blood, but I suspect that it has nowhere near the source material for a four season show.
