Killing Otto and taking Larys out of the game was a huge mistake by the show IMO. I'm all for killing main characters but Otto was the only one who added political intrigue. The show couldn't afford to lose him

This whole cast put together could t equal Tywin or even Tyrion.

What did non book folks think of the episode last night? I enjoyed it. Has been a good season. I do not like Ormund. I wish Gwayne would muster the courage to slice his throat. You could see last night, Ormund is cunning and ruthless, but he has a bit of coward in him. Maybe Gwayne and Daeron can team up against him. Who knows?

Rhaenyra continues to make terrible choices. I was as frustrated as Daemon, she should be more ruthless. These folks all are against her and want her throne and want her dead. They've killed two of her sons. She should murder Alicent, should have already done it and I think she would be sitting in a much better spot. Should kill her little half sister, should burn out the greens, and heck, take out a few more folks. And let my man Corliss get in on some of this vengeance.

Yeah, hopefully he gets away from those folks. Rhaenyra should have done the right thing earlier and maybe they wouldn't be in this mess.

I'm a book reader but I didn't watch last night. Pulled a muscle in my neck and couldn't even sit up in bed to watch TV Being 40 is hard.

Went out like a champ? We went out like the arrogant idiot he is. Dude convinced himself he was this legendary warrior who was doing all of these critical tasks that his beloved Alicent would hear all about and that people would sing songs about. In reality, he was a directionless blowhard who’d convinced himself of a cause that got himself and all of his men unceremoniously killed.

Dude is a blowhard who wrapped himself in madeup lore when he couldn’t handle the shame from breaking his vows and killing that one dude at the wedding.

Google says that in the books, Otto was the first traitor to get beheaded when Rhaenyra took Kings Landing but doesn't say who swung the sword to do it. So keeping Otto alive longer for the show would've been a big deviation from the source material.

Great character, went from a nobody to hand of the king but had his honor stolen by families who don’t suffer the consequences he’s forced to. He’s a lot like Jamie Lannister in that he sees the paradoxical folly of honor among the elites. He becomes black pilled once he’s again cast aside by a high born woman then sees the destruction the dragons bring while also witnessing Aemon, his prize pupil and surrogate little brother’s betrayal of his King. He’s a Dornishman so he decides he’s going to cling to the only shred of honor he has left which is combat, until he’s killed instead of going back to the corrupt world of the high borns.

My only big problem is that there are two episodes left and they haven't moved the plot along nearly enough. They've also started a new plot line with Corlys which can't be adequately played out unless they continue it into next season.
