What would the motivation be?
Alicent made a pretty good pitch that she might want the Hightowers as a friend, she has to be seeing that Rhaenyra isn't going to hold on to the crown and is a failure as a queen.
Also wasn't her whole motivation for supporting rhaenyra to help the smallfolk, which Rhaenyra seems to be failing at?
If she's such a good spy she shouldn't be having this hard of a time figuring out who's killing all the gold cloaks. Maybe she has something to do with it?

Otto is dead and club foot isn't nearly as competent ad he was in S1.
Killing Otto and taking Larys out of the game was a huge mistake by the show IMO. I'm all for killing main characters but Otto was the only one who added political intrigue. The show couldn't afford to lose him

That’s kind of the issue here, no one is actually good at what they do.

This whole cast put together could t equal Tywin or even Tyrion.

I had high hopes for this season but the trend is clearly just two maybe three really good episodes a season and the rest just kind of bad filler. The writers are really struggling.
Still a good show but just by far the worst of the Westeros shows outside of season 8 of GoT.

What did non book folks think of the episode last night? I enjoyed it. Has been a good season. I do not like Ormund. I wish Gwayne would muster the courage to slice his throat. You could see last night, Ormund is cunning and ruthless, but he has a bit of coward in him. Maybe Gwayne and Daeron can team up against him. Who knows?
Rhaenyra continues to make terrible choices. I was as frustrated as Daemon, she should be more ruthless. These folks all are against her and want her throne and want her dead. They've killed two of her sons. She should murder Alicent, should have already done it and I think she would be sitting in a much better spot. Should kill her little half sister, should burn out the greens, and heck, take out a few more folks. And let my man Corliss get in on some of this vengeance.

Did you see what happened with Corlys at the end of the episode?

Yeah, hopefully he gets away from those folks. Rhaenyra should have done the right thing earlier and maybe they wouldn't be in this mess.

I will say Sir Cole went out like a champ.
Few questions as I was tired last night but watched it, I will probably rewatch.
- The lady that shot him, have we seen her before?
- I thought Alicent was trapped and then we see her out, did I missed who saved her?
I've been rewatching GoT and just started S3 - it is amazing the difference in politics and strategy in early GoT with Tyrion/Tywin, etc.. compared to Rhaenyra - she is an idiot and in over her head - but I guess that is the point to show.

I do not think so but she is a character in the books. Not sure if we'll see more of her.

The guards found them when they saw they were missing.

Yep! She doesn't make decisions until it's too late.

I'm a book reader but I didn't watch last night. Pulled a muscle in my neck and couldn't even sit up in bed to watch TV
Being 40 is hard.

He just looked like he was tired. But he was like, alright, here we go, then boom, boom, boom, arrows and done.
