Yes, but compare that to any similar start-up venture. The bumps he hit are pretty standard and I'm not claiming he's some paragon of honesty. In that regard he was a typical business man pushing a product, and if you're going to claim he's characterized by not following through then you've got to add up the other side of the ledger. He's unmatched there.

The industry would blackball any production he bankrolled. There's not an endless supply of people who know how to make these movies. An outsider like Musk, who has been labeled right-wing, would be shut out from using almost all of the in demand people IMO.
