This is true. However, Elon buying Twitter, when he did definitely changed things in the social media world and this country. It’s outright crazy on social media but if one crazy gets a voice then all the crazies get a voice.

Discussing movies and tv might involve people having a different opinion than you. If you want to call that crying, that's fine, but don't expect discussion.

The irony here is that a lot of you act exactly like the worst elements of the poliboard.

It’s very simple, their argument is that they like it and it’s doing well at the box office.

2 questions destroy their argument

1- was anything changed
2- have you ever not liked a popular movie

Yep.

Now the bar is it’s a massive flop if it doesn’t become only the 16th film since 2020 to hit $1 billion.

Only one R rated film has crossed that bar since 2020 and only 2 all time.

Those 2 were comic book films.

But the current mode is “I mean yeah it should AT LEAST hit $1 billion I mean that’s a given”

At the end of the day it’s just a damn movie, watch it, or don’t watch it. It’s just a damn movie that’s getting the reaction that was expected before anything was filmed.

If it hits $800 million, it will have earned between $50-175 million PROFIT by break even numbers from AI

That is after theater splits

and what movie counts $50 million in PROFIT as a failure?

Thing is nobody is attacking people for liking it but anyone criticizing it gets attacked. I’ve even seen casual posters getting DV’d like crazy over minor criticisms without even engaging in “the debate”.

Yes, Nolan typically comes in at or under budget so this isn’t a case where a $250million dollar movie really cost almost $700mil like we saw with Jurassic park or Star Wars, which was even bigger. The marketing was big for this but not to the point where it has to make the type of money some were saying it needed to.

Is your argument truly a differing opinion? That’s nonsense. All of your contentions are simplistic. Hey, Mensa.

I tend to respond in kind. I assume someone is after honest discussion until they prove otherwise, then if they want to roll in the mud I’ll ignore it or roll with them.

Do you even know the points I’ve made about the movie?

But you've already got me figured out as a troll of some sort?

About the only thing I've said is that there are legitimate reasons for the criticism/concerns. He went with a decidedly feminist interpretation, he made some deliberately provocative casting choices, the armor, the speech, the changes to the story, whatever. That doesn't mean the movie sucks, just that it's not irrational to dislike certain aspects of it. It's also not irrational to NOT have those same concerns or dislikes.

That's it. I haven't made any predictions about it being bad, good, profitable, whatever.
