Actually William Wallace was 7 feet tall, and would consume the English with fireballs from his eyes and bolts of lightning from his arse.

There are tons of posts from people talking about this movie before they saw it. Only negative posts get the "you haven't even seen it" dismissal. Polish Nolan's taint and it's all good whether you've seen it or not.

He said the movie he hasn't seen isn't better than the movie he has seen, and that thinking the movie he hasn't seen could be better is "one of the dumbest things ever typed."

I don't care what he said about the movie nor did I defend it, mensa. I'm talking about the dismissal of an opinion because "you didn't see it". That only seems to get pulled out when it's an opinion they don't share.

This is hilarious.

You’re now a victim of being on the mistreated side of “didn’t see the movie but giving opinions on said movie”. When people say clown world, I’m pretty sure this is what they mean.

The entire movie Braveheart “takes you out of the story” regarding the real William Wallace

It’s a great movie, but its filth when it comes to historical accuracy

This is how I feel about The Patriot though I wouldn't call it a great movie b/c Gibson made Tavington so comically over the top evil that it makes all the historical inaccuracies stand out even more.

Look everyone is guilty of giving an opinion of a movie they haven't seen at some point.

I instantly wrote off Young Washington b/c I believe the studio that made it mostly puts out cheap crap. Many people who saw it say I'm wrong that it's actually well done.

So even though I stand by my opinion on Angel Studios movies being generally garbage the people's opinions who saw Young Washington are valid and mine is not because I have yet to see the movie.

I know people hate to hear this but opinions can be wrong if you are basing them off of insufficient or incorrect evidence and it's completely fair for those opinions to be dismissed out of hand until the person actually views the film.

That goes out the window once the movie is out. Now people have seen it. Those that have not's opinion is utterly irrelevant.

You are way way smarter than this. I don't get your whole deal here about this.

You saying they just changed the name of Achilles to Sinon in the underworld scene is not an opinion, it is outright incorrect and therefore dismissed.

Correct.

He is trying to play a semantics game by using words like "replace"

Yes, instead of having Achilles in the underworld, Nolan has his dead crew and Sinon in the underworld

That is where the similarities end. The scenes, words, and thematic purposes are completely different.

But he just wants to have some sort of bizarre semantic gotcha that Nolan actually has Ellen Page playing achilles

You seem to cry a lot, maybe I mistook that for your victimhood.

Btw, you seem to call posters "Mensa" quite often. That's odd. Are you trying to use antiphrasis? Good on you.

I sure did. I also owned up and apologized to the board for going off the rails. Not much I can do besides own it and be better moving forward.

Have an upvote.

I whine? Yes. I do. I admit it. I think M/TV board shouldn't be an extension of poliboard, even if hollywood is woke. So, frick me, aye?

I much prefer to discuss, recommend, get recommendations, for movies and tv, which this board was the best at long ago.
