Agree with all of that

Remember, though, people like whoever posted that loved Elon until he backed Trump, bought X, and called out the bullshite political correctness and censoring.

Meh, he makes wild claims on timing, but eventually gets there.

His "schtick" has made him the first trillionaire, so guess its all those failed promises

“Da Cybertruck will operate as a boat as well”

“The Tesla Semi will revolutionize commerce travel”

“We will have intergalactic space travel in 10 years”

“Wait no 5 more years”

“Uhh like 3 more years”

“I will be a speed rail that will be more efficient than the one being built already”

“I will clean up the government of fraud and fix the deficit”

List goes on and on even his biggest fanboys can admit he literally just says bullshite to create hype that have no basis in reality.

Achilles would actually look pretty badass in that last one.

Yes, he talks a lot of shite. He's autistic. As I said, he's weird and when you shoot for the moon you'll have some failures.

But if you can't acknowledge his technological accomplishments because you don't like his politics you're an idiot. No different from the people claiming Nolan is a terrible director, all eaten up with the political/cultural divide.

Zip2 which led to mapquest
Xmoney/Paypal
Tesla co-founder that made it more valuable than next 5 car companies combined
SpaceX which has carried the US space system/military's nuts for last 10yrs
Twitter/X which finally launched X money like WeChat
Neuralink/Optimus continuing deelopment

Lots of failures in life

You implied he wasn't capable of funding a movie and is generally not accomplished. Thats insane regardless of your (or his) participation in the culture wars.

Historically accurate and dialogue straight from the original poem in Homeric greek would make for a bad movie.

No I really didn’t

He’s clearly “capable” of funding a movie. He just won’t. Because he doesn’t deliver on 99 percent of the bullshite he says on Twitter to appeal himself to the right wingers that cry about this stuff all day.

He hates Elon Musk for the typical Redditor reasons

He is not a serious person

He is like a Reddit transfer bot

His entire hatred of Musk boils down to his supporting Trump and buying Twitter.

All of it

I am also certain he will deny it, they can't ever admit that

Hell, I'd rather see present day Diane Kruger in the role than Nolan's casting.

At this point, no matter how well they do the accuracy, people just accept the more Classical Period of Greek culture subconsciously because of how much it's been ingrained in us.

Like the white columns/marble, when they really looked like this:

That's why even in Troy, which had armor and costumes are likely much closer to the time period (Bronze + leather...I don't think the panoply armor was for most of the soldiers).

but when it was Achilles, the main star?

Corinthian helmet (although leather armor, admittedly)

Which is much more aligned with the Classical period centuries later

When we think "ancient Greek" pre-Rome, it will always go back to that Classical look, white marble, etc.

He replied "I'm down" to a casual suggestion (a dumb one IMO) on X. Most sane people don't see that as a "promise" any more than it's a promise when a director says something in an interview about a future project and it never comes to pass.

I get that people don't like him, but claiming he's characterized by not following through is just laughable. That's pants-on-head silly bullshite.

If I ever got to know Joss Whedon I suspect I wouldn't care for him very much, but I wouldn't suddenly think that Firefly sucked or claim he never made anything worth watching.

It was much more true 5-7 years ago than it is now. He's definitely improved over time in this area.

This was pretty legit back in the day when he hadn't worked out the kinks in supply chains and manufacturing to get products to consumers when promised. Remember back in the day when people who had paid deposits for Teslas were getting them like a year late? That doesn't happen anymore.

And a few of his Tesla promises of that era never came to fruition, etc.

But he's gotten a lot better at not doing this PLUS SpaceX actually turning into something real is a large feather in his cap
