And yet Marvel keeps making Thor and Ant-Man movies, even though they don't make a billion dollars

In all fairness Thor is a Billion dollar film series by itself and if a second Ant Man film pulls in the same money it will be as well.

I don't think you re going to get that with any DC characters not named Superman or Batman.

it happens with every movie these days. Social media marketing is very lucrative. Warner Brothers knows whose seeing these movies in advance. They're not going to screen it to people who aren't going to like it unless they're a critic under a NDA.

Tons of youtubers were raving about it. I don't think I've ever seen a movie have this kind of mixed reactions.

Those were also the biggest fans who loved Man of Steel. I'm not going to buy it from them since the very foundation of our arguments are bound to clash.

I just think it's odd that Twitter blew up yesterday praising it as the best comic book movie of the past five years, yet here we are with an 11%?

When are the "bought and paid for" reviews going to be reported? Or have they already been?

He does say this...

Also it is clear that Zack Snyder actually HATES Superman.

Which was a pretty major point in the problems in MoS.

Twitter is a horrible place to get reactions. You could find countless ones on Fantastic Four when it came out. I did have faith in some of the reputable youtubers who said it was great, though. Some of them did not like Man of Steel. Most of them did not like Fantastic Four. Honestly, the disconnect surprises me on this one.

I'll be happy to be above 40% at this point.

about the same time as "axe to grind" reviews are...some critics complaining about not getting passes leaves a bad taste in their mouths.

I think it's clear that WB/Snyder/DC have an idea of how they want this DCU to be...and it's mold breaking to the average fan that is DC.

I'm definitely thinking it will go up, but I don't understand how it can truly be a "good movie".

I know some have said it works in the actual comic series, but I just don't understand how Superman v Batman can really be a thing. I guess to me it just seems too one-sided of a matchup. Either Batman has kryptonite on him (in which case from my understanding, Superman is basically a powerless weakling) and can easily defeat Superman or he doesn't and Superman can easily destroy him.

I just don't see how they make much of a plot line out of that. It seems like it'll be a whole bunch of shite talking and fighting with someone leaving their adversary alive in the end instead of killing them (pretty much my biggest complaint possible in any movie) before they team up in the end as frenemies against someone else.

Again, I'm definitely gonna see it as I'm pretty much an Affleck fanboy at this point (damn I never thought I'd say that), but I'm not expecting much.

The only thing I care about is that even the negative reviews say Affleck killed. That's all that matters to me. I don't care about Superman, GL, Aquaman, Flash or Wonder Woman movies or a justice league movie.

But if Batman is legit I'm okay

If I have to choose, I want more great Batman movies over average to good JL movies.

If this movie fares poorly, it could be the end of DC Movies.

Many youtubers feel a sense of dread in calling it out.

DC fanbois have drawn a firm line in the sand. They will gush over it, regardless of any aspect of the film itself.

That said, there are plenty of films that did shitty on the tomato meter, that I still enjoyed.

I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up higher than that. This is a very small sample size right now.
