The only starting line figures I owned were Griffey, Chipper, Maddux, MJ, and Shaq

My son has them prominently displayed in his room

Griffey Jr

I tried learning how to bat left handed because of him. Got decent at it with a buddy throwing batting practice, but never good enough to actually try in a game.

If you were a kid growing up in New Orleans in the late 70’s, there’s only one answer..

Tony Gwynn / Greg Maddox. ( Especially when they faced each other) I played baseball but didn't get into watching it till later
My favorite football player, when in was young, was Jeremiah Castille ...when Bama played on TV that was who I watched

In baseball it was Rose and Jackson in the mid 70s. Everybody thought Rose was the man with those head first slides.

In basket ball it was the old Washington Bullets with Hayes,Unseld and co.

In football it was the Oakland Raiders because they were a cast of characters.....and my neighbor across the street had been good friends with Stabler's Dad and by extension Snake....Sneaky Snake!!!!

Dan Marino

I still watch videos of Marino trying to figure out how he could release a ball that quickly and have a perfect tight spiral. Laws of physics don’t allow.

That was the "getting into CFB" moment as a kid.
