What a joke NIL has turned into when the presumptive NFL MVP favorite makes far less Arch.

$3.2 mil per year for a guy who has yet to take a meaningful snap in CFB when Purdy is making only $870K.

I could be wrong, but I still think it'll even out over time when companies pay these dudes big money and it goes straight down the drain because they suck

..isn't that where it's going now?
Does a company gain my business because they are paying millions to a CFB player?
Nope.

Youre comparing off field earnings to on field earnings. How much $ does Purdy make from off the field stuff? might still be less but i dont know

Just wait until after Purdy and the boys win the Race Bowl. Endorsements finna skyrocket.

I don’t think most of these instances are companies trying to profit off these kids likeness.
The majority of the big deals are just boosters funneling money to kids.
There are a few like Shiloh and Sheduer are actually in real commercials. Same thing with Livvy.
But most of it is just who can pay a player the best through boosters.

Agreed and why this will become more regional in terms of corporate monies. It’s hard to justify spending millions on college athletes if you have a board or shareholders to report to..

Has there ever been any objective proof of these NIL numbers?

Is this verified?

This just means Purdy is woefully underpaid

Not if the board and stockholders alumni...I think you think this is a regular endorsement... this is boosters having to pay players through businesses... simple as that

I too was not the best in college, but busted my arse and showed promise in the real world, and now I'm well compensated.

“Companies”. You’re adorable. NIL is straight up pay for play.

THIS! The only thing that has really changed is that boosters can be much more generous than they could when "pay for play" was an NCAA violation because players don't have to hide it anymore.

I’ll just never understand adults who get upset about young athletes being paid.
Someone believes that a players value is x and the player agrees to take x.
No one is getting hurt. Nothing illegal is going on. It’s not costing any of you money to subsidize these players that you don’t think should get paid the amounts they get from NIL collectives.
If someone wants to pay Arch Manning $10M, frick it. Good for Arch.

Sounds like a Brock Purdy/49er problem. The 49ers will never let Purdy play out his Mr. Irrelevant contract.

pretty special case there. Purdy is worth 35x that.
The problem with paying players will always be some people over or under perform their contracts.
Darnold is making over 5x Purdy’s salary on the same team.
