re: PFF gave us a C+

Seems reasonable.
Day 1 was okay.
Day 2 was just a complete reach.
Day 3 was good.
What matters is whether they made a good decision in drafting Shough.
Could be. This wouldn't be the first thing they manufactured: U Conn basketball, the Big East, the concept of "power" conferences were all creations of ESPN. Those 3 were obviously successful.

Well they needed a QB badly. The problem is that they consistently reach for players: day 2 = 3 reaches.
That's a level of arrogance that they can evaluate significantly better than the consensus. History suggests that they can't.

You're making it about race.
Practice what you preach.

Another pick, another reach.
That's what Kiper does when teams reach.
This was a major reach.

Sanders is universally ranked higher than the guy the Saints picked. But, oh no, can't have him.
Reach for the 25 year old.
Of course this is a great pick.
That's ridiculous.
They need a QB and Sanders wouldn't be a reach per most evaluators.
People were afraid that they'd draft him in round 1.
This wouldn't be so bad, if they think he's a first round QB.
Yes, we know. Owners "forget" to include capital gains when reporting their financial results.
Just like when they whine about government spending, the subsidies that they pocket are never mentioned. (such as the great body of the taxpayers subsidizing their capital gains bill).

And don't they still have like 6 first round picks in their pocket.

Amazing GM work.
The Braves are in trouble.
They didn't improve themselves in the offseason. Rough start.
Devers is owed c. 300 million. No one is trading for him even if he gets back on track.

And that's quite the price to pay for a DH.

I like the card today. The big days and most Thursdays and Saturdays are bettable (Sundays and Fridays are basically Evangeline Downs).
Great to see Sierra Leone back.

Churchill Downs Inc. has 75K MSW purses for Colonial in that gambling mecca of Virginia.
And yet, they continue to slice Fair Grounds Purses down to 52K?

Does the racing commission, does the HBPA, does the legislature have a thing to say about these shenanigans? Or do they like them low to minimize out of state participation (keep the competition out, Louisiana style)?
West Va didn't deserve squat. The Big 12 ratings are always phony/fluffed-up. The only team of note they bat OOC was Gonzaga and they were an AQ who would have been bubble at best. They are counting wins over Cincinnati as "quad 1." It's ridiculous.

Just make all of the play in games 16 seeds. This allows 4 more smaller conference teams to play in the tournament. Losing the conference championship might not be a death sentence for these smaller schools.

Kind of dumb asking a 11 seed to play an extra game when almost all lower seeds don’t have to.

They should do the opposite: eliminate the play-in for all auto qualifiers, and make all of these low at-larges play the play in. I think the tourney can survive with 10 SEC teams rather than 14.
Memphis is also 6-1 against Q1 and 5-2 against Q2. i doubt a handful of teams can match those winning %s. And yet, they are 48th.

The American was really bad in OOC this season except for Memphis.
The rules exist to stop the manipulation. Timing your moving up when you know you have a good team so that you can cash in quickly.

FCS and Division 2 had much more lax eligibility standards, so the phase in rules would stop a team from recruiting a bunch of ringers and then moving up and cashing in; they can still recruit ringers and move up, but they can't cash in.
The rules may be obsolete at this point; I'm not sure there are any eligibility standards anymore.

Nothing wrong with the 6-2 yr old stakes in November and December. How do you expect breeders to breed horses if there's no money to run for or stakes money to run for? I don't see you complaining about the QH stake schedule for 2 yr olds. Half million dollar races for the Futurities.

Jason does a good job but ever thought he's handcuffed by his bosses in Louisville.

And purses should of been cut 10% across the board including stakes races.

Colonial (another Churchill property in that betting mecca called Virginia) announced its purses: 75K for MSW. People bet like maniacs in NOLA and we're 33% less. Why is Churchill so disinterested in Fair Grounds racing; and how are they getting away with this?
Re the 2yo statebred races, they are all 6F, all jammed into the last 6 week of the year; why not space them out nto the 3 year old season and increase the distances. There are only a few from Jan-March.
I believe the top 3YO Stakes Race for Fillies runs today.....paltry 100K purse.
