What I gathered from that name reveal press conference is that this was never a contest. Barry had his idea on his name and when you get outsiders naming a team you get something BS hokey like Zydeco. Logo isn’t bad but the name blows.

I think the Redsticks name is currently taken by that UFL Football team that is probably going to be (or already is) bankrupt before actually playing a game.

Maybe the strategy is they’re trying to draw on a 150 mile radius around BR for fan support, so they slapped a mascot that represents the general region/vicinity of BR and outlying areas.

A couple weeks ago a female friend of mine who works for them told me it was gonna be the Bayou Blues. They kinda leaked the name and it got negative feedback so they decided to change it. Problem is it didn’t improve
