I read somewhere (may have been Issacon's book on Elon) that the main reason he didn't get along with Xavier was his love of communism. Here Elon is able to provide unlimited financial support, due to capitalism, and Xavier is like "forget that". One more reason to hate the woke mind virus.

Kinda makes sense to me. England had a long runway and is much closer to Elick - may be in the city limits. Esler is out in the middle of BFE.

After the old England AFB was closed, like 30 years ago, local officials moved the commercial airport from Esler Field to what is now called AEX.
I think that they built a new terminal about 10 or 15 years ago.
