re: Worst 13 months of my life

That's a lot going on over that period of time but I've learned through my own experiences there's some good support people on here.

I posted a thread a while ago, on/off updating about the pursuit of a kidney transplant to stay alive (I'm surviving with a single functioning kidney). Since 15 months ago I've:

Lost my best friend a week after coming back from visiting her and the family. She was my biggest supporter in the chase for the transplant. Died unexpectedly.

Preparing for pet loss, coincidentally going through kidney failure just like me

Watching my mother deteriorate from dementia

Watching my father also deteriorate from an unknown physical ailment

The year-wait for any news on the transplant has been exhausting, watching myself deteriorate over time, but I've deprioritized it to get my mind right after carrying all these other changes.
And there's my #1 reason to visit Poland
I hope some white kids get names with hyphens and apostrophes if that's the going rate
Not only are they running out of ideas they're running out of actors
I honestly thought Office Depot was dead like ten years ago
What a retarded take, and that's saying something

Anti-American scum lacking impulse control is pretty alarming. Like how hard is it to just not be a piece of shite? I don't care what side people are on politically, it's not that hard to be decent and kind, and just not say things out loud. These people all get what they deserve by exposing their ideas.

He's speaking from his own hatred of Republicans and hoping nobody dares question a well-known author.
They stopped the launching of the dildos, took the fun out of watching.

Why the masks on rioters and looters?

It would be very frustrating to recruit a guy for a couple years, have a great freshman season and then bam off to Michigan State to be a backup.

Or to Eastern Michigan to learn from a Knigga. Seriously though, it sucks for these Non-P5 schools where you never know if a kid you recruit is just using the experience as a stepping stone to another school a year or two years out.

In all seriousness guys, Little Dawg could use a few prayers. We see neuro in the morning and have no clue what's going to come out of it. We're operating under the assumption that it is much more than a concussion... that is a TBI. We're 22 months from the incident and he is struggling to put words together.

The eye opener was this weekend. He was supposed to drive to a family friend's and instead he went an hour away from there. Then when he got there he came up with "Phillips" but couldn't come up with "screwdriver". This after him having nonstop headaches causing him to miss 3/4 weeks of work.

We thought we were clear of it but it's sucked all of us back to where he was 3 months in. You baws and wrestling are a nice escape. I don't even enjoy any level of football anymore.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about your son's current condition. I know from personal experience that these things can be challenging, and sometimes defeating, and what he's experiencing may sometimes be hard to understand to those around him. I don't have to tell you the obvious stuff of be gentle and have patience with him. Through developing a system to help strengthen his brain it can be effective. Personally, my TBI was developed through multiple brain surgeries, which ended up wiping years 0-20 from my memory entirely. I had to retrain myself on an organizing system (medications, when to take them, appointments [this is before iPhone was a thing] and how to keep up with dates for them).

It's important that you're catching this at the time you are. These kind of things, the symptoms by the affected, can be hard to recognize. For me, it was the complaints of memory issues, and a bunch of learning my history and how to reorganize for the future.

I grabbed a bunch of word search books when I first recognized what was going on. Little brain exercises can be worked on over time, depending on what he enjoys. If he's happy with word search books that's a good place to start. Just the simple things that can help his situation. Hopefully his visit tomorrow turns out some easy remedies for things and things can be relaxed a little moving forward. No BS, feel welcome to reach out to me by email - 3100Travels@gmail.com. If you want to use it or not, that's up to you. I say I've been doing this for over 20 years, if I can be of some help I'm more than happy to.

Was home sick one afternoon this week and watched The Hunt for Red October. I had forgotten how good it is. I barely remember U571. I need to give it a rewatch.

Red October is one of my Connery favorites. I've been going through watching some of his movies again lately.
A disgraced, world-known scientist revives his dead son, bringing him back as a robot, having wiped his memory clean. The father uses him to commit crimes to get back at the people who ruined his career. The robot also goes off-course during the movie on his own created side missions.

Think Upgrade meets Hell or High Water with a little bit of comedy and Chicago-like shooting accuracy built in for comedy
WNBA should embrace the dildo like a leaguewide mascot and treat it like a special appearance. Print some shirts. Like NBA has their logo, let this be the WNBA one.

The ending of Warrior with the brothers fighting/not fighting
I've found, unfortunately, it seems my brother is not interested in helping. In every area of support through the process he's been unwilling. As the saying goes "it is what it is". There's been a large enough support network to make up for it. I think things will turn out better and soon. Dialysis is just a pothole I hit along the way because my body hates me.

Thank you for sharing about somebody you knew and how well he's doing to this day. All positive news is welcome in this thread. I've joined a lot of Facebook groups (begrudgingly, just because it means more time on social media I try to avoid!) and really find hope in the many success stories.
