I believe you correctly outlined that there are two clear paths back to rules and sustainability.
Are either perfect? No.
Are there ways to implement either? Absolutely.
Personally I think congressional action is the way forward as it could settle much of this immediately.
Will CFB continue to exist if one of them doesn’t happen soon? Not in any form I care to follow and that’s coming from someone who has had three generations sitting in our season ticket seats in Alabama.
If this is what it is moving forward, I’m just done across the board.

I think SFP has a fair point that the landscape was different 20 years ago. There were no huge TV contracts, no social media really, and judicial activism wasn't nearly as prevalent. If the ground rules and precedent was established in that environment a lot of the foolishness we are seeing would be curtailed theoretically. Not saying it wouldn't eventual continue degrading into what we have today, but at least some chance it would have been more contained.

The only viable solution is an exemption to the anti-trust act at the federal level or a creation of some sort of special “employee” adjacent category that allows for collective bargaining without bankrupting colleges.
Back when we had a functioning Congress we passed laws addressing granular, specific problems like this all the time. It’s only in Congress’ current utterly impotent form that it seems like an impossibility,

Big 12 members just need to vote TT out of the conference. I'm sure there are bylaws that cover the process. Totally legal to do so.

"Unlawful"? What law would the Big 12 be breaking? Pretty sure every conference has it own, specific laws against gambling but what legal state law is involved here?

You know people suing the NCAA isn't a new thing, right?
The reason this landscape changed was a 9-0 assbeating due to the NCAA's refusal to permit NIL. Without that ruling, you get the traditional NCAA victories we saw for decades prior to that decision.
That was the inflection point. Removing that inflection point puts us back at the status quo prior to that ruling.
