However, I believe this period of college football we are in is transitory. The movers and shakers of the game, to include prominent politicians, are not presently happy with the state of collegiate athletics.
I’m interested as to why they aren’t happy. Could it be because the oligopolies which ran the sport a decade ago are getting broken up and programs which never had a chance before are contending for titles?

Also Indiana was missing their best pass rusher in this game as well

Yeah keep whining since your monopoly on college football was broken up by this new era. Cope gump!

no, he saw what a shite show nil and portal was
It’s only a “shite show” because it challenged his monopoly on college football and talent, why do you think he got out and constantly rants about NIL and portal? Because it broke up his monopoly at Alabama, it’s now been HALF A DECADE since they last won the natty and that was a bogus covid abbreviated season.

The SEC has become soft and the Big Ten has surpassed them, just accept it and strive to get better

A roster whose average age is close to 23 years of age and who have 4-5 years of FBS experience. Cig is playing moneyball with the transfer portal and you can't fault him for that.
Either you adapt or you die, and apparently the top SEC squads are becoming soft presently with how they got bullied this playoff season, even Georgia’s soft now.

Is it now half a decade without a natty? Geez, enjoy being just another P4 team in college football, your aura is gone, hope you enjoyed it while it existed

Tbe reality Alabama fans have come to wasn't a big shock and actually antiicipated. Reality #1- There was going to be a drop off after Nick. No way it wasn't going to be. Majority of us expected that. Reality #2- Expectations should be competing for conference titles and NC's, wnning them every three to five years. We played in the conference chapionship game and made it to the second round of the playoffs without having a running game all year. Reality #3- Two of our four losses were in post season play. Tards trying to equate four losses to four regular season losses are just that, retarded. Reality #4 DeBoer is more than likely a three to four year stop gap until the next HC. He doesn't have what it takes to win titles. Bama fans dont expect to win one every year but his teams are too inconsistent to ever win one. So, he's our puppy for two more years then he's probably cut loose. Reality #5 It could be worse. We could be in as bad of shape as Auburn, whose program has been a complete disaster for right at a decade. Reality #6 We've taken a dip no doubt, but that dip includes winning 11 games and playing in the post season.
Cope bammer! Your team’s aura is GONE, you got your arse kicked by a bunch of 2/3 star players on national tv. EAT and ENJOY that shite!

Youre the underdog for a reason. You cant run the ball and you're not that physical at the LOS. Ohio St would blow you out and Indiana roughed them up good. Bammer is not only going to lose, but will get humiliated! The game will not be close
You proved prescient yesterday

Saban won his titles and built his legend by always having a massive talent advantages at LSU/Bama combined with his coaching expertise. Cignetti’s doing what he’s doing now with what? 8 TOTAL 4/5 star players on his roster, most real ones acknowledge he’s the closest thing to a Saban clone.

I just don't want a losing regular season record, we haven't had one since 1999, need to keep the streak intact

could be a good game, lot on the line for both regardless of what the Pitt coach says
re: Michigan Will Beat Ohio St Again

so basically Michigan is to Ohio State like Alabama is to Georgia in that sense?

I mean yeah we went 31 years where we couldn't beat you in Baton Rouge and obviously you won 13 of the last 15 meetings in recent play so that all translates
re: Will there be the same national media outcry about officiating after this game
Posted by Gen Patton on 11/9/25 at 12:43 pm to ColtTiger247
I'm not giving the refs that much credit, our offensive line is garbage and we have trouble getting plays in regardless of home and away, it's embarrassing. We have a veteran QB who doesn't read the field well and a backup who struggles with accuracy but gives us a running dimension.
That said, my only complaints on the officiating:
-the no call personal foul by the Bama player throwing our guy down while both were out of bounds
-the no call running into the punter
-the review with MVB sliding which was total BS
-not familiar with this rule but not giving the ball to Woodland on that catch/INT
That said and not pinning this on Ramos but if our FG kicker makes a chip shot to start the game, we cut this thing to 17-12 and give ourselves a fighting chance. If Sharp doesn't fumble the ball away, Bama doesn't get gifted 3 points. If our offensive line was just better at execution and the basics, maybe we actually score a TD with all our WR weapons in all those trips in the red zone and the outcome's different. The moment we start blaming the refs for Ws and Ls, we lose the mental battle and thus the war. Just gotta play better.

We are the #1 defense in the conference in PPG defense (18.3) in conference play, while playing arguably the best group of offenses.
Outside of Vandy and Georgia, Mizzou and Tennessee has fallen off significantly, LSU's offense is the worst in the P4 so them not scoring TDs in the red zone aren't much an accomplishment
