So why are people so against extra netting at baseball games?

Fan at the Dodger game just took a foul ball to the face. I dont understand why this hasn't happened yet and I don't understand why people are against it

Netting done right isn’t even noticeable. It’s common sense with so many people staring at their phones these days.

Getting clocked by a ball going 100 mph because you happened to look away at the wrong time has nothing to do with being stupid. And with the little girl getting hit, they have the attention span of a thimble.

I don't mind it the only time I splurged and sat behind where the netting is now.

Shouldn’t they just net the entire stadium? Or perhaps they should just put up a plastic shield around the entire field similar to hockey. Perhaps take away the entire fan experience by just making everyone sit in the upper deck?
I understand you all are arguing people are distracted from the game by cell phones. I suppose we should make all speed limits 15 mph since you all will also defend people that text and drive, so we need to make roads safer for them?

We should quit playing sports all together since people can players get hurt more than fans.
