Sucks for his kid, im guessing he gets nothing from the insurance company.

He only made 4.5M in his career.

Again, if you put yourself in that situation it's your fault.

Should you die if you get in with a drunk driver? No, I don't think you should be sentenced to death and hopefully your vehicle makes it to it's destination w/no wrecks.

But if you do get yourself killed? Too bad, so sad, you shouldn't have let a fricking wasted person drive you.

Sorry but you deserve exactly what happens to you if you put yourself in that situation and do nothing.

Never a middle ground on TD.

Has to be either Jose Fernandez is scum or the 2 dudes deserved to die.

It's called personal responsibility. Yes, you do in fact deserve the consequences of your actions.

Idiot.

You are the idiot. Plenty of articles detailing the glorification of his life and accomplishments. And I know there was a thread on here of posters glorifying him and excusing what happened.

So what he pitched good, doesn't make him a good person. He is an absolute pos. Oh, excuse me, was an absolute pos. the end.

have toxicology reports come back on the passengers in the boat?

Macias’s BAC was .04, and Rivero’s was .06. Rivero was also determined to have cocaine in his system

More gruesome:
quote:

The report states that Fernandez’s body was found pinned between the boat’s T-top and a boulder. Fernandez could not be immediately identified at the scene through his driver’s license photo because of facial trauma, the report said.

Interesting. It doesn't change anything, but all this time I was under the impression that one of the friends owned the boat (according to previous report). What a shame one bad mistake, and 3 people paid the ultimate sacrifice.

I didn't know him enough to form an opinion of his character. My only takeaway was that an excellent talent was wasted.

My opinion still doesn't change of him. He was still a great talent, and a great person off the field. He was an inspiration who made a tragic mistake that cost 3 lives.

Dude was 24 living in Miami and did what anyone his age would do.

Drive a speed boat in the dark while high and drunk, killing themselves and two friends?

That's what anyone would do?
