quote:That's good. That isn't what I said and your parsing leads me to believe I was right, but that still misses the point. It doesn't change everything else you or he accomplished in life.
I have not ever driven while loaded on alcohol and coke. And especially havent driven a car at about 125 mpoh while doing so(
I can, on one hand, appreciate his talent and kindness and the things he accomplished, and, on the other hand, condemn the choices he made that led to losing those things as well as costing others their lives and loved ones.

Why does everyone only ever care about the outcome, and not the cause? The cause is where the bad decision comes into play.
If a father and son happened to be nigh fishing near the jetties, Fernandez's coked up arse would have ran them right over running at 65mph. All of a sudden, by making the same exact decision as before, we hate him more simply because of the result?
I haven't seen 1 person defend his actions.

Think of it this way: what if he survived the crash and the others still died?

the pos got what he was asking for by doing that. Unfortunate 2 other men lost their lives because of this idiot

I am sure you have a breaking point somewhere
Every murdered gangbanger has a momma and friends talking about how great of a person they are......

Idiot? Why? The guy was high on cocaine and drunk and he was operating a boat and killed 2 of his friends. Would you "honor" a drunk driver who kills 2 other people just bc he could throw a baseball well?
If he was drunk, coked up and having fun on a boat with two other people, guess what...............
They were all drunk and coked up.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
People do drugs ALL THE TIME. why so judgmental? DO you really care about these people?

Had he killed more innocent people, it would have added to the tragedy. It doesn't change any other aspect of who he was and what led to his death.
Reducing his life simply to this incident is just as simplistic as reducing his life to throwing the baseball good from 60 feet.
We should be capable of more complex thinking about people and life.

I am using my complex brain to realize someone who drives a boat 65mph, while loaded on coke and booze, with a child on the way, likely is a person who is very selfish and makes plenty of decisions in which they center themselves as the most important person.
I am also being complex by saying, I see no reason to glorify a person I never met, who likely wasnt that great of a person, simply because he is famous with a good infectious smile.

Look, I am not saying yall are bad people for saying you mourned the life of Fernandez.
I am saying that I find it interesting that you are mourning a coked up Cuban who died, and killed others, while driving a boat recklessly while coked up.
