A thrift store find could now sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

A routine treasure hunt at a Hillsboro Goodwill store in January has turned into a find of a lifetime for 19-year-old Quinn Brown.

The Portland resident said he discovered a Los Angeles Lakers warm-up jacket that has since been authenticated as one worn by NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain.

Brown said he spotted the gold-and-purple Lakers jacket in someone else’s hands. But when that person put it down, he quickly picked it up.

He just threw it in front of me, and I immediately grabbed it,” Brown said.

For just $3.07, the jacket was his.

Brown said he had an inkling the jacket may be the real deal. So, he posted a photo of it on Instagram, where it caught the attention of Sotheby’s, one of the world’s largest auction houses.

Before long, the jacket was on its way to New York, where it was professionally authenticated through SIA Photo Match.

“They said your jacket has been matched to the 1972 NBA Finals. I knew the NBA Finals jersey sold for $4.9 million. That’s the jersey he wore under my jacket,” Brown said.

Didn't Rendon spend more time on the IL than on the field? Seagar is nowhere close to that.
And none of the annoying and unnecessary graphics on the field.
That is something I never expected. But there were going somewhere since Fan Duel is about it bite the dust.
I've never thought of him as a great player except for last year. He's only had 3 seasons of 3 or more WAR. But 500 home runs may get him there. But he's 33. And some players quickly deteriorate around that age.

Jets had respectable attendance despite being out of the playoff picture all year. The league just signed a Canadian TV deal 2.5 times the previous contract a year ago. They do have trouble signing stars, but they did manage to resign 2 of their best players not that long ago. The league knows it will make far more in expansion fees than moving teams. Unless attendance significantly drops for the next several years, I don't see them leaving.

Not to mention the Lightning. Which have been a powerhouse the past 5 years.

Jets owners make a frickload of money from all the surrounding property. Senators are working to get a new arena in downtown Ottawa. Neither are going anywhere. They may never win a Stanley Cup. But that doesn't mean they won't turn a profit.
I don't see how you're so convinced. None of the teams have unstable owners that don't make the league any money like the Coyotes. And those Canadian teams are owned by some of the wealthiest businessman in the league.

The Toyota Center isn't going to work if Friedkin owns the team.

quote:

Bettman said the league has entered an agreement with the Friedkin family, who has roughly six months to investigate if a team is possible in Austin or Houston. The agreed investment for the Friedkin family is $3.5 billion, which includes an expansion fee as well as building costs for an NHL arena.
There aren't any teams that want to move.
I knew that would happen. The same thing occurred after the 4 Nations Faceoff last year. Many casuals disappear as soon as the event is over.
There was a running series with Indiana during Widenhoffer and Stull's regime. None of them ended with a Tigers win. Both tied a few years earlier when the Tigers blew a chip shot FG at the end.

The last tie in team history was Smith's first year. They played Hawaii the last week of the season. The game was a late start. And I don't know if it was even televised. But Hawaii scored a TD and 2 point conversion with seconds left to tie. What was interesting was Smith referred to the game as a loss multiple times in the postgame.
It's unfortunate for the consumer. But it's the way of the times now. No one in the MLB hierarchy cares as long as the checks clear. Oh well. I have no problem not watching. I can find plenty of other forms of entertainment that aren't plastered with endless ads everywhere.
I haven't. But I remember watching a couple on TV. As Florida St was down huge, and embarked upon a furious comeback to Florida, I remember thinking to myself if Bowden would kick the extra point or go for a 2 point conversion if Florida St scored a TD. Bowden chose to tie the game. I had forgotten about this until I saw it on YouTube later, but Florida St got the ball back late in the game. And had moved the ball to around midfield with 20 - 30 seconds left. But Kanell chose to run up the middle of the field for a few yards instead of throwing the ball away. And the clock ran out. And the score was deadlocked.

Another was when Michigan played at Notre Dame. Michigan moves the ball to the Notre Dame 30 yard line with a little over a minute left. But Grbac throws a head scratching INT deep in Notre Dame territory with no Michigan player anywhere close. Despite having the ball deep in their own territory, I thought Holtz would still try to pass the ball. But he chose to run the ball. And essentially ran the clock out forcing a 17 - 17 tie as boos rained down from the crowd. John Dockery of NBC asked him after the game why he decided to play for the tie. Holtz quickly became agitated, claiming he wanted to run the ball to see what Michigan's coverage was. And that he was playing to win. But he strangely didn't call a timeout that would have stopped the clock after 2nd down. Michigan somehow had 3 ties that year. Went undefeated. And won the Rose Bowl.

The last college tie was Illinois/Wisconsin in 1995. Illinois needed a win to make a bowl. The game ended 3 - 3. I had forgotten about this, but OT rules were in place for the bowl season that year. Which makes one wonder why they weren't for the regular season. Wisconsin had 2 ties that year.
No. No matter how much a goal is worth, the same difficulty to score is still the same.
And at least one negated in Game 2.
How many goals have the Golden Knights have waived off this series?
Both. I miss him working the late night ESPN games.
