Jacob Hester & Evangel demolishing a very good Rummel in 2002

I was at that game. State semifinal IIRC. Evangel won like 42-0 or something. The next week in the dome, Evangel beat WM (again) 35-4. Yes, 4. The only points WM managed were due to Evangel snapping the ball over the punters head TWICE, resulting in a couple of safeties.

Ducre started out at Tulane and then transferred to MSU after Katrina (when Tulane eliminated his major).

If I remember correctly… Carroll was the only school that beat WM that year… it was actually homecoming for the Bulldogs…

Similar to Al Bundy at Polk High (once scored 4 touchdowns in a game versus Andrew Johnson High School) - let’s pay respects to Louisiana High School Football Legends

My dad played at a small High School near Centreville, MS with a bunch of former LSU and Ole Miss players. He once scored 5 TDs in a game, but they lost.

I've been around alot of high school football

Defense: Leroy Etienne; this guy was big, mean and just dirty. Nobody and I mean nobody could block him. He was a top 22 in America, selection. Hs all American.

Offense: Kevin Faulk. Every play when you watched him was a potential touchdown when carried the ball.

First random that comes to mind is Zach Pendarvis (I think that was his name).

Never saw him play, but always saw him at LSU games with the recruits.

Nope. Lost at Carroll and lost to Ouachita at WM in double overtime. Giving Jamie Spencer 4 chances to score from the 10...WM was never going to stop them...

If we're just talking about HS legends that didn't move on to anything big really, my top 2 would be Marcus Turner-WR WM that went on to McNeese State and Keith Carter-LB WM. Carter played with a lot of legends at WM, 3-4 Power 5 guys that also played LB, and Arledge always said he was the best.

Turner was 5A Offensive MVP as a WR at WM...that threw the ball 3-4 times a game...Unreal speed, Spiderman type strength/weight ratio, and great hands.

Any older Ascension Parish people in this thread ? Trying to remember the East Ascension RB from the early 80s. Played college ball at Nichols.

Mike Stonebreaker at JC, Billy Cannon JR and Bucky Richardson at Broadmore, Brian Mitchel at Plaquemine , the Trafton backfield circa 1985/86 (Kinchen, Dennis, Thrower ?), Loup and Banta at UHigh, B Kinchen at U High , the Juice at ACHS, Gay and Lejeune at Brusly, J Williams at St Amant as an option QB, Daigle , Ray and Able at Catholic.
