Most of y’all won’t remember these guys in high school, though 1 did go to LSU, but
Kevin Hall—FB West Monroe and Jermaine Sharpe—TB OCS were absolute studs in the early 90s in high school.

Brad Booth RIP
Brad was a great friend of mine. Played ball together from 4 years old to our freshman year in HS. Almost followed him to PBS but decided to stay where I was for something unrelated to sports.
Not only was he an outstanding athlete, he’s probably the greatest human being I’ve ever known. He and that PBS 2001 team wrecked everybody and would’ve beat any other state champion that year.

You remember Antron Sieber that played with To on those Indy teams? Dude had scholly offer for football and baseball at LSU but got drafted. When I was a freshman they were juniors and in our district. I took a kickoff from around the 3 and got a couple good blocks and as I was crossing midfield he caught me from behind at an angle and drilled me. Worst I ever been blindsided.
He would’ve been an incredible WR or S in college and likely the pros but signed a minor league deal after high school

I was in HS when Matt Forte played for Slidell and a kid named Christian Ducree played at Fontainebleau. I had a few friends that played on the defensive line, two of which went to small D1 schools and they said those two dudes would make you miss in a phone booth.
We likely went to HS together. Man that 2003 SPS team played against some stud RBs (and our defense wasn’t exactly great against the run either )
I remember Forte ran for 275 on us with two sprained ankles We all know how he turned out.
Northshore had a RB that year named MJ Rachal who ran for over 300 against us. I think he signed with ULM but never heard about him after that.
De La Salle’s RB Van Taylor ran for 250 on us. I think he ended up transferring to STM after Katrina. Not sure what happened to him.
Korte and Ducre were also unstoppable…led Fontainebleau to the semis in 2004. I wish Korte would have panned out at LSU. He was in Miles’ first signing class. Ducre ended up splitting the backfield with Anthony Dixon at Mississippi State.

Since you're going all New Iberia, where's Leroy Etienne? Guy was a beast. What about Kerry Joseph?
call him by his nick name (lip).
Can't believe I omitted Kerry. Too bad he was the only talent they had his senior year.

anyone remember seeing Wade Richey kick at Carencro?
I remember seeing him kick in the Dome against Neville in the state championship game circa 92 or 93. Kevin Faulk was QB for Carencro. Richey was the best high school kicker I ever saw. Dude could split the uprights from 50+

Remember when SPS beat Fontainebleau at their place with both Korte and Ducree? I think that was 2004-2005 year.
Korte was the biggest, fastest kid I’ve even seen but also the dumbest guy I’ve ever met. Seriously.

played HS football @ St. Martins Episcopal from 1982-1985. John White was the QB at Country Day who set National HS passing records with 97 TD's (career) and 8,326 yds (career). John committed to Penn State and never really saw the field as he returned back home to Metry.
Crazy how Brock Berlin threw for 13,902 career yds, even crazier that the current passing record is owned by Maty Mauk 18,932 and his brother Ben Mauk is 2nd nationally with 17,364 yds. Regarding RB's, Leroy Hoard (St. Aug) was a man amongst boys ... he was the original Leonard Fournette of the early 80's in NOLA. Signed with Michigan and played 12 yrs in the NFL. Tyrone Hughes also prepped @ Aug during this same era and signed with Nebraska. DB and PR specialist who in the 6 yrs in the League (including Saints)

off the top of my head, Jerry Fontenot - (Tx A&M) 16 yr NFL career, and Cedric Figaro (Notre Dame) 8 yrs in the NFL may be the 2 most well known LHS graduates with NFL success. Feel free to add more if you know of any

Yes, it was in 2003. I was a freshman and had broken my wrist in a freshman team game a couple of weeks before. I watched from the sideline wearing a cast while on percocets The game was amazing, but at the time, it was hard for me to comprehend what was happening.

For sure. He was unbelievably physically gifted - far more than everyone else on the field with him. But he really struggled in the classroom.

Ross Brupbacher (Chicago Bears), Dwight Prudhomme (UL), Billy Rickman (Atlanta Falcons), Karl Terrebonne (La. Tech), Yusef Mortensen come to mind.
