Cool thread, as a Covington guy just I’m partial to a few I saw.
Steven Smith and Ronald Baham All-State QB and WR, lost to Vance Joseph’s Shaw team in the dome. Great game but a sad ending for a young kid.
I’ll second Nilo Silvan at St.Pauls…incredible to watch. He was so much faster than everyone else.

Was this around '88? My wife graduated from Covington and I swear she has mentioned this dude before and it stuck with me because there was a guy from my high school in Monroe with the same name.

I'm not reading through all this, but if Ryan Perilloux hasn't been mentioned yet, he should be. Dude was absurd in high school. He single handedly beat St.Amant in the playoffs his junior or senior year.

Early Doucet (St. Martinville) was one of the best high school athletes I've ever seen.
His highlights are absolutely filthy.
Also, a couple I've actually played against:
Kendrick Lee- Jackson. Like trying to catch a jackrabbit. What ever happened to him?
Tony Joe Maranto- Port Allen. Strong as an ox. Played a few years as a DB in the NFL.

For me, you can't name Clifton White without mentioning his backfield partner Horrace Raymond.

Jamaal Fobbs (St. Augustine).
Jamaal was a good friend of mine and was an amazing RB. We played together at Ouachita Jr. High in Monroe before he moved.
If he would’ve stuck around, you would’ve had him, Jameion Spencer and Jermaine Brown playing running back together at Ouachita High School. Spencer ended up at Notre Dame, Fobbs at Ok State an Brown at Southern(had offers from major D1 schools but I want to say he didn’t have the grades).
This would’ve been the year Ouachita lost in the Dome in 94(Fobbs would’ve had one more year to play after that).
