I’m sure there’s a clause in his contract that would prevent them from having to pay his buy out if they fire him after telling them he’s leaving for another school.
Zachary getting calls in close playoff games. Annual tradition.
As a kid, I was outside playing all day during the summer, so I never watched Cubs games. Hence, why I became a Braves fan. Would turn on the tube at night to watch the hapless late 80s Braves.

Good point. But McConnell was OC in name only. Dinardo promoted him so that he could continue to micromanage the offense. Bob was a patsy.

Kinda.
Dinardo kept Tepper and fired Mo Watts, naming Bob McConnell OC.
Lost 3 games while scoring over 30 pts in 98. Averaged 31 ppg and still went 4-7. Such a terrible season.

So to answer the OP, it’s Lou “Drop Linebacker” Tepper, by a landslide.

WM with the quick score. They’ll win by 14.

New York in January

Planning a trip first or second week of January. Other than planning on freezing temperatures, any other recs as far as hotels, etc.? I’m not an OT baller but want something better than a Holiday Inn.

ETA: looks like there are some nice IHG hotels there so disregard my last sentence.

To play where? All they are lacking is a SS. This is assuming they make the logical choice and have Baldwin DH. Sign a utility that can be an emergency catcher. Then focus on a TOR starter () and the pen.

Hot stove used to be one of my favorite times of year. But I have absolutely no reason to look forward to it this year. Awful hire only to precede what we all know will be dumpster diving to fill out the roster. That window slammed shut so hard the glass has shattered.
Good episode but I was thinking it was going to be showing the origin of Pennywise. Not just earlier stuff he did prior to the original movies.
4500 sq ft house with gas. But a big chunk is upstairs and I’m not so concerned with that. Main reason I’m ready to get one is because we don’t close our pool down in the winter. Every year we get about a 3 day hard freeze that terrifies me. I know I could just get a portable one for that. But we’ve also been without power in the summer for over a week. And I’m all about ease which is why I’m leaning toward just getting one installed.
Ready to take the generator plunge and want one that will power the whole house. Or at least downstairs and the pool.
What is the benefit of installing one vs paying half the cost for a portable? Both generate 26k.
Is it simply just the ease of it? Automatically turns on, etc?

so the younger generation would never believe this?

?

Old people don’t like change, for example the transfer portal and NIL. When old people speak poorly of these things, the younger generations usually clutch their pearls.

What’s this have to do with NIL

Oldhead reason is that now college players play for their wallets. Once they get paid, they're more apt to take time off from minor injuries than they would have in the past when they were trying to get to the league.

Again, oldhead answer.
I’m a doctor. I don’t recommend the covid vaccine. I don’t throw meds at patients for mildly elevated glucose, blood pressure, or cholesterol. I voted for Trump three times.
But this is silly.
Too early for an offseason thread. But planning on the offseason is all we have at this point.
Record revenue with the luxury tax penalty being reset. $50 million coming off the books.
Be nice to spend about $100 million this offseason. Pitching, both starters and pen, and shortstop are necessities. I would have Murphy/Baldwin stick at catcher/DH though I know some of you disagree. That saves a lot of money.
Haven’t really looked at the free agents this year.
Will also be nice to have some high draft picks and an extra pick for Baldwin getting ROY.

Where you getting that from? I'm seeing numbers much lower. Not terrible, but nowhere near an 810 OPS.

Plus, "clutch" would not include getting a bases loaded hit when you're up by 10 runs. So, to the poster that mocked us that "watch the games", yes, he would be considered very unclutch, as are most of the Barves this year.
