This will be quickly appealed and he will not play. He is not going to play in the NCAA ever again.

They obviously will appeal but I’d bet anything it’s not overturned. NCAA is a complete joke

Not only did he bet on his own team. He bet the UNDER for passing yards

I expect it will be.

The NCAA has to aggressively pursue all legal remedies here. There is no universe where they can let this stand. They are done as an entity if they do, and they know that.

As weak as they are, this is an existential threat to their very existence

This is much worse

This is basically saying its okay for the players to gamble on their own team

Completely fricks the entire sport

I get that, but what prevents the NCAA from just invalidating any game he plays in?

The CFP isn’t controlled by the NCAA. The CFP voters could keep TTU out of the playoffs but the NCAA doesn’t have any teeth here.

This. Not sure why they didn't do this with the Bama basketball player. They 100% need to do it here.

You’re absolutely right that the ncaa is a joke, but it’s actually not their fault this time. They’ve been ABUNDANTLY clear you can’t do this and will lead to a lifetime ban. This is a total joke by a judge who has no interest in actually upholding good law. He should legit be removed from the bench and lose his right to practice law.

Judge said “suffer a probable, imminent and irreparable injury.”

Thats the whole point of rules and law. There’s consequences to your actions lol

I obviously haven't read the ruling, but this is essentially the Judge saying that NCAA does not have standing to do basically anything even for their most egregious offense

Which cannot stand
