Fielding has gotten worse, not better. And dear Lord they don't know how to run the bases anymore. Ground balls are mostly dribblers because everyone is trying to "elevate".

The league average fielding percentage is literally higher than it’s ever been. It’s mostly only ever trended up since the inception of the game.

Sounds like you need a better attention span. MLB is great.

IMO, i cant wait for 3 outcome baseball to go away. Currently only 7 players in all of MLB is hitting over .300. It’s sad when teams would rather their guys swing out of their shoes to either hit a homerun or strike out instead of trying to get a hit or put the ball in play.

Baseball has neutered strategy left in the game, your average fan could manage these games.

NL baseball, pre-Covid, was. It’s all the same now. I watch, but not like I did before.

Fielding is way better than it’s ever been.

Base running I could go either way. A lot of retarded base running mistakes still, but I’m sure there always have been.

Given your logical paradigm, I would argue that the logical extension of your line of thinking is to conclude that American High School baseball is the "purer" version of the sport.

College Baseball is BELOW Pro baseball Minor League "A" ball. Is Minor League A Ball purer than AA ball? What about AAA Minor League ball?

If you say the below A ball college baseball is purer, then, by logic, wouldn't high school be even more pure, since there is no pro element at all there?

Exactly. It cracks me up so many pretend concessions are expensive at only baseball games. When the reality is, they're expensive for all the other leagues too. Not only that, one could easily avoid that by grabbing something somewhere else before or after the game. The food mostly sucks at the stadium anyway. It never added anything to the "experience" for me. The only "experience" I needed at a game was the roar of the crowd. And the crack of the bat. I was just grateful my dad bought me a ticket. That alone was enough for me. We ate at home before the game. And that was fine with me.

Son and I visited Wrigley last wkend for Cubs/Yankees.
Packed as usual in Wrigley, games on avg lasted around 2hrs 30min.
Found a concession, pay $35, get all you want, so we loaded up for the game. It was fun, fundamental baseball. Being at historic Wrigley was a fun experience, surreal, like going back in time.
Also visited #1 voted minor league stadium Quad Cities River Bandits.
Nestled on Miss River in Iowa, also have a big ferris wheel, many other free rides for the kids or adult kids in left field. Packed out on a Thursday night. Beautiful baseball stadium, fun offensive game we saw.
If you're into visiting different baseball stadiums, 100% recommend Wrigley and Quad Cities River Bandits.

Just because the team sucks doesn't mean all of baseball sucks.

I'm the same way. I'll watch if my team is on one of the primary networks. But I rarely watch all the other teams I used to watch. All the bullshite ads keep multiplying. And makes the games far less enjoyable to watch than they used to be.

They've sped up the game actually. Games are over pretty quickly.

If you're understanding the game and watch for the subtleties of it, you find it's not boring at all. If you're wanting long homeruns over and over, those days are over for now.

What's the problem with the latino players? I like how they play the game personally.

The season length is just right.

It does need some salary caps and real penalties for over-spending to make it more competitive for sure. I think that will happen eventually.

The concessions are way too expensive I'll admit. I just get peanuts and bottled water, maybe a beer before the sales gets cut off. No sense in paying for a full meal and excessive alcohol (not good for you anyways).

Watch a Red Sox game. Under Cora the philosophy was to maximize slugging. That resulted in a lot of strikeouts and runners LOB.

Tracy completely flipped the approach and look what’s happened. Guys are peppering the ball all over the park and even bunting.

Bunting.
