but you, myself, nor anyone in this thread have no idea what exactly happened.

You know, as I am neither judge, jury nor executioner, I tend to be ok speculating that the dude fricked up and we should all take it as a reminder to not follow his example.

If in a month we find out he was driving to practice totally sober and following all rules and she decided to douse her car in gas and park it in the road I am totally comfortable with saying I blew my judgement of Ruggs and it effected him in no way

Do civil trials not have judges and juries? Why aren’t they considered real matters of law?

Great post with good insight. I probably have come across pretty harsh in this thread. It wasn’t my intention, but this is a situation that does hit pretty close to home with me. I shouldn’t judge before not knowing all the facts, I guess it’s just a sensitive topic.

Completely get that man. I did that about a month ago on some thread I think that was talking about suicide or something like that. I probably reacted harder than I meant to, but it happens. Sorry if you’ve been impacted by this before. I know it’s an awful awful thing that is very avoidable.

I’m assuming past NFL player and other ultra rich people that drive drunk and kill people pay off families to not press civil charges and make a case to judge for leniency.

If he rear ended someone, was that person passed out at a redlight or was he driving the speed limit between the lines in a sober manner?

Pics just above your post indicate not.

So you’re here to proclaim you have never in your entire life driven without an oz of alcohol in your system?

Because if you have, by your own definition, you’re a shite human too.

That’s not how this works.

Why couldn't he have just gotten a damn Uber home.

As bad as it is, I can understand normal not wanting to get an Uber sometimes. Depending on where the bar is, an Uber could easily cost almost $35 to get home, not to mention $35 to get back the next day. That's enough to make someone convince themselves they're more sober than they really are.

But he's loaded. He can't use that excuse.

I would like to say that he may never play another down in the NFL again. But we all know NFL players are privileged when it comes to these things. They will find a way so that he doesn't serve nearly as much time if he was a regular Joe.

It’s worse than that.

EVERY SINGLE!!!1! NFL player is not only educated about (annually) but also granted a card with a phone number which grants them free, no questions asked, limousine services anytime, anywhere. It’s designed to avoid evil like this.

frick you Gumps for defending this subhuman piece of shite! Ban him from the NFL for life!

Yes, it was a horrible mistake that took a life

I hate when people call this a mistake. A mistake is accidental, this was a choice.

Dang I didn’t realize previous NFL players got off that light. That’s embarrassing. If this happens to anyone of us we would be in jail for 10 years minimum

I know of someone who killed someone in a car crash back in the early 2000s. He was convicted of involuntary manslaughter/DUI and 2nd degree assault. He got 30 years and is still in prison.

TMZ is reporting the woman was trapped in her car and couldnt escape before it burst into flames. I hope that image goes thru Ruggs mind everyday for the rest of his life. Its bad enough his lapse in judgement led to someone's death, but the pain and suffering she endured shouldn't even happen to your worst enemy.

I just don’t get how he didn’t already understand given what happened to his HS friend. Always talks about honoring him and does this
