I mean I will assume if he’s charged with a DUI he’s going to be facing serious jail time so I don’t think he has to worry about the NFL

Well we don't really care about alcohol related stuff in this country and stuff like this is so common it's completely normalized, so he will likely get the minimum 24 month sentence and serve 12-16. And it's sad that we value someones life that little.

Hate to see this, DUI resulting in death should be at least 10 years jail time in my opinion. Someone lost their life here.

this could get interesting, what will NFL do?

One guy is not going to play, because of accusations, in lawsuits, not the court of law.

One guy was drunk and killed some one with his car.

1. The NFL likely won’t have to do anything. The Raiders will likely suspend him and the NFL won’t have to, which is how it’s being handled in Houston.

2. Since when are 22 lawsuits not the court of law?

I haven't followed Watson's drama real close, have any criminal charges been filed or are these 22 civil lawsuits?

Physically he might be okay, but if he killed someone on the road can’t imagine what that will do to him, plus any charges that may be coming.

If true, he should spend the next ten - twenty years in maximum security prison. No sympathy feo idiots that do that shite.

He’ll get less jail time than Michael Vick did, just like Donte Stallworth & Leonard little did after they both killed someone driving drunk

shite Leonard little had 87 sacks after he killed a lady

yes. Significant jail time.

Josh Brent with the Cowboys got 180 days and 10 years probation for killing someone while driving impaired.

Stallworth got 30 days for DUI manslaughter.

What do you consider significant?

The Vegas news site have photos where the crash investigators have painted the tire marks for Ruggs car with a pinkish color and the Rav4 with a green color. Had trouble trying to copy the photo links. It looks like Ruggs lost control while in the left middle and hit the Rav4 in the right lane. Definitely was speeding, from the point of impact to where the Rav4 stopped is around 300 to 400 ft

Point of impact is off the right side of the photo

Hopefully the poor woman in the RAV4 died at impact rather then being burned alive.

Causing a serious injury or fatality by drunk or drugged driving is a category B felony in Nevada. The punishment includes:

2 to 20 years in Nevada State Prison,
A fine of $2,000 to $5,000 (at the judge’s discretion),
A 3-year license revocation by the DMV, and
1 to 3 years of having an ignition interlock device as a condition of reinstating driving privileges

I’m guessing the hospital has a Blood alcohol level drawn already. Is Nevada a state where if you get in a wreck, they can charge you at a lower level than usual %?

If field tests only, his lawyer can always play the concussion/shock angle, which would most likely be true in this case.

If he rear ended someone, was that person passed out at a redlight or was he driving the speed limit between the lines in a sober manner?

No excuses though. Especially since catching a cab or Uber in Vegas is so convenient/ubiquitous, as opposed to somewhere like Green Bay or Buffalo

Dang I didn’t realize previous NFL players got off that light. That’s embarrassing. If this happens to anyone of us we would be in jail for 10 years minimum

Well, I’ve also never killed anybody so there’s that
Cool, so the difference between you and Ruggs is just that you're lucky you never killed anyone while driving impaired. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for yourself.

Ruggs absolutely should pay the price for this with jailtime and a civil suit.

But the vast, vast majority of us have gotten by the wheel after drinking. Like I said, the only difference we aren't in Ruggs's position is we got lucky. Process vs results.

IF you've ever driven drunk, however shitty you think Ruggs is, you are no different.

unfortunately he was ok. Would have been sweet justice if he had been crippled. Before one of you bitches say something. Try losing a brother to a drunk driver and see how it feels.

Not for the civil suit her family will file. Louisiana law would allow the heirs to file a survival action for her conscious pain and suffering and a wrongful death suit for the heirs’ individual claims.

Do civil trials not have judges and juries? Why aren’t they considered real matters of law?

I believe he has pending criminal complaints in addition to the civil suits.
