Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III was released from a hospital and to a Las Vegas jail ahead of an initial court appearance Wednesday on multiple felony charges after a fiery predawn vehicle crash that left a woman dead and Ruggs and his female passenger injured, police and his attorney said.
Ruggs, 22, and his passenger were hospitalized with unspecified injuries that police said did not appear life-threatening after the Chevrolet Corvette he was driving slammed at high speed into the rear of a Toyota Rav4 on a busy thoroughfare in a residential area several miles west of the Las Vegas Strip about 3:40 a.m. Tuesday.
The Toyota burst into flames and the driver and her dog died, police said. The woman was not immediately identified.

that dog death just tacked on 5 years. What a terrible decision and end to his career.

Lot of baws in here were saying not to jump to conclusions yesterday. Yikes.

I was one of them and I stand by what I said. I advocated for people to wait until facts were released before forming conclusions and speculating about the guilt or innocence of Ruggs. It is important to remember no one in this thread knew Ruggs's speed or intoxication level yesterday.

.161 BAC.

that's terrible, especially combined with his alleged excessive speeding.

You ignored every sign that it was serious and despite him being charged still said people shouldn’t jump to conclusions. It was obvious that this wasn’t some minor DUI incident.

That’s actually insane. Holy shite.

This was Tornado Alley ITT yesterday.

Please don't confuse my plea to wait for the facts to unfold, particularly as to his actual intoxication levels, as defending Ruggs
I think that is what the majority of us were saying. Looks like double the BAC, and he was going over 100mph when he hit the other car. Just completely inexcusable and a life was lost because of it. He will be in jail a long time.

No, I didn't. I asked people in this thread to wait until his BAC levels were confirmed and other facts about the accident were released before forming conclusions as to his guilt or innocence. Repeatedly.
Furthermore, even if I did "ignore every sign that it was serious," what difference does that make? I am an internet message board poster with no connection to Ruggs, the victims, or the accident. How does my speculation or call for patience affect the situation? It doesn't.

Rightfully so.

God forbid someone isn’t the first to vilify a person after an incident like this and wants to actually wait to see the circumstances
