I think he’ll be OK. As of last night there was about 50-50 shot he’d lose his leg, but as long as surgery went OK, it should have alleviated the artery/nerve issue.

Career is definitely over though. Sad he went out on that reversal.

I was going to post the same thing and it’s not a joke at all. I sincerely hope it’s not the Saints medical staff doing it.

Not as important, and I’m a Saints fan, but that was the worst overturn of a call I can remember. That replay guy should lose his job. It was that egregious.

I don't think the overturn was necessarily that egregious, it's the goddamn rule that is that egregious. It's probably the worst rule in football and it needs to be fricking changed. That shite was a catch and any rule that allows any interpretation to show otherwise is asinine.

It didn't look like a coach to me

Why would the Saints medical staff be doing it? From the sound of it, this is a very specialized procedure.

That’s fair, but are they not allowed to use a tad bit of common sense? And can’t we blame both the rule writers and the interpreters on this one?

I prefer schoolyard rules. If you would call it a catch while playing with your buddies, it's a catch. No need to go to super slo-mo to determine if the ball shifted an inch and touches the ground.

Guessing he was rushed to UMC, it’s a great hospital and he is in some of the best hands for this type of trauma I imagine.

Good vibes to him...

Yeah it’s specalized. Vascular surgeon would need to handle it.

Probably so. As a level 1 trauma, they’d have a vascular surgeon team in place to handle this

Sorry to hear of his struggles and hope he is eventully ok. That being said, yes the rule needs to be changed and I am officially calling it the "Zack Miller Rule" in honor of ZM. The must complete the catch is awful considering all the QB or RB (like Ingram did yesterday), is break the plane of the goal line for it to be a TD.

I really hope he pulls through and will be ok. Nobody's deserves these sort of injuries.

Also, I'm glad we one the game and all, but this definitely should have been a catch. I will never understand how it's not a catch. The rule seems so inconsistent.

while watching it at home I saw the dislocation immediately and said "holy shite"

they kept showing the replay over and over talking about the catch and it took them forever to realize the injury had happened.

An offensive player, while running the ball, just has to touch the goaline for a split second for it to be a TD. A player catching the ball in the end zone has to have two feet down, control of the ball, and not bobble the ball. Seems unfair to me

I will be disappointed if the players on Monday Night Football don't do something to show their concern for Zach Miller.

Sadly, it probably won't happen.
