College basketball and the NCAA tournament are pure trash. The one and done is great for the NBA, but nit for the NCAA.

College Football and college baseball I feel the same.

Man I am experiencing this now. My first is ten months old now and I really have to pick and choose which sports I prioritize and all the others took a back seat.

Significantly less. Football drives this conversation. College football used to seem like a supercharged version of high school football. Now it seems like a shittier version of pro football. Once traditions stopped mattering, college sports lost most of their luster.

Less. The BCS years while it did have its flaws was the apex of college sports popularity. Bowl games meant something no opt outs, no portal of constantly rebuilding your roster year in year out, no conference realignment. A lot more parity across the board.

Way less. I'm glad Michigan won the Big Ten a couple of times before college football really gets absurd with multiple Pac 12 teams in the conference and a 12 team playoff. The portal is a joke.

When your team is at rock bottom it’s also easy to not care anymore

What gets people most intensely interested is a competitive team that hasn’t reached the top but could

Less, and there are a few reasons that have come together at the same time that led to my checking out more.

1. WVU hasn't done much of consequence in the past decade, by mid October they're not playing for anything other than an also ran bowl. I still have my season tickets and go to most of the games, but I don't get too high or low based on the results.

2. The game has got away from the regional game that made it great. Each conference had their own flavor and it made it a more interesting product. Now the game is national and it takes something away from it. As the alum of a school that has had to go through the trials of conference realignment and not sure where they would be in the future, it has really had an impact on my fandom of CFB as a whole. It is exhausting and has sucked a lot of fun out of it.

3. The turnover with the portal and NIL. You used to get 3-4 years of a special player or group. Now they could bolt at any time.

I'm sure if WVU got back in the groove I would overlook a lot of this but right now this is where I'm at. Add in a wife and two kids, it is easier to leave behind for the time being.

Baseball (more) I still enjoy, enjoy it even more in person.

Football (less) Ever since NIL and the transfer portal its all about the names on the back of the jersey instead of the one on the front. There's no loyalty or honor in playing for your team, they can have it.

Baseball - more
Football - less due to transfer portal and NIL
Basketball - less due to one and done and now the portal.

Use to live for every game all season now I just watch a few certain football games every year: Bama, Auburn, and Florida…I don’t care about the other football teams LSU plays.

Basketball and baseball… I start watching ncaa tournament time.

Not upset when LSU loses. I do have a lot more free time.

The 80s were pretty solid too. Especially the second half. As an Iowa fan, Chuck Long and the Hawkeyes beating Michigan in a last second FG in a 1v2 matchup. The Boz. Jimmy Johnson and the Canes. Lou Holtz and Notre Dame. Catholics vs Convicts.

The 80s were a lot of fun.

Way less for me but I’m thinking mine is mostly related to life

From 26 and no kids to 36 and 3 kids. That’s a completely different world
