harden playoff PER is probably higher than Scottie best regular season PER. So Scottie at his very best up against all the bottom scraping teams is not even as good as harden average v all the best squads in the league. This is not a fair match at all.

Scottie got carried by Mike. And the
Bulls wouldn’t have beaten golden state either. You gotta be big picture.

I never mentioned Scottie in my argument, also PER can be easily manipulated by usage, especially in a short sample size like the playoffs – and in Harden's case, the sample size is shorter than most because he has never made the finals with the Rockets..

FACT......... I want winners on my team... not stat padders.

Pippen = winner
Harden= stat padder

There is no debate here.

Harper, Pippen and MJ would shut that team down defensively.

You're crazy to think different.

And who on those teams is guarding MJ or Pippen one on one? Draymond Green? GTFO.

Harden has played WELL over 82 games in the playoffs. So he has a larger sample size than Pippen best season, which was 82 games at most.

Try again.

No one is “shutting down” a top 3 offensive player (Kevin) combined with the best 2 shooters ever(Steph and klay). That is as silly as saying Jordan would get shut down. Golden state has more talent than those bulls teams. They are too efficient offensively.

Stockton would have been the closest. Stockton was a floor general at a really high level, so he is right there imo.

MJ averaged 40 fricking points in the 93 Finals. He fricking carried that team.

He shot the ball 199 times in 6 games.
Only 33 shot attempts per game. I guess that’s good.

"They shouldn't ever mention Michael Jordan without mentioning Scottie Pippen"

-Michael Jordan

Scottie was a big and fast forward that guarded 1-5 at an elite level. He was a garbage man that cleaned a lot of stuff up on offense and played with the same effort as Jordan.

You can probably name 5 better sfs all time but not 10. He was that good.

MJ and co swept a pretty good up and coming Bullets team led by Chris Webber and Juwan Howard with Rod Strickland at PG in 97. Webber would later get into some trouble with weed and was shipped out to Sac town for Mitch Richmond

To think the Wiz had Rasheed Wallace, Webber, and Ben Wallace at different points and did nothing...incredible.

mj was the killer.
larry was the killer.

guys like that take your lunch money.

larry had a great team around him. but lakers had a shitload as well.

hoops cant be done on the reg with one guy.

only nba one was moses malone in modern times.
carried a houston team.

Dr j did it once for long island nets but that was aba.

kareem has some nice teammates when he won with bucks.

the opposite of one man band was the knicks with frazier, senator, debuschere, reed.

cousy and russell had a nice team. heinsohn for example. sharman.

one guy is rarely enough.

Mike is being a gratuitous teammate. He has never been a glory hog.

That is emphatically false too.

Been looking at a lot of top 10 all time sf lists and Pippen is 6 or 8 in damn near all of them.

MJ is the best scorer in NBA history and best defender at his position in NBA history.

Shut up.

If Im taking players on my team I am probably taking Stocking before Scottie, but other than that I agree with the premise.

Scottie being as good as he was, and Phil Jackson being the coach helps make all 6 of those championships.

MJ is the goat regardless, and he would have won a championship no matter what, but I dont think he wins 6 championship. None of those rings came by the way of Jordan carrying a bunch of scrubs with a crap coach. Those Bulls team were an all around great team. That doesnt make Jordan any lesser of a player either.

There are some guys in NBA history who are simply unguardable. MJ stands at the top of that list. But also on that list is Kevin Durant. MJ and Scottie were all-world defenders. But neither of them are shutting down KD.

Also no one is really worried about Scottie 1-on-1. Not when the Warriors has 3 different guys that can get you 30 points real easily.

I watched their entire careers and still don't know how to compare Pippen to other greats. If Pippen had a 'clone' and you replaced the following players with the clone, would they have won championships? For example:

Replace Barkley (Suns era) with Pippen clone, I still don't think they beat the Jordan/Pippen/Grant Bulls.

Replace Kemp with Pippen, I still don't think they win.

Replace Drexler with Pippen, I say no.

Replace Karl Malone, again would say no.

Pippen's game perfectly complemented Jordan but I don't think he was 'better' than some of the stars of that era that never won it all.
